Bosie State v Anyone

Postby donovan » Sat Nov 21, 2015 10:32 am

It was a great run and this year's record will not reflect how bad Boise State is. Unfortunately, I think it may be at every level. You will see assistant coaching changes. The strength of Boise in the past has been their speed, now generally lacking, especially on defense, players knowing their assignments and being there on time, and innovative play calling. There Quarterback, to me, has very little field savvy, but if you have .35 nano seconds to read the field, that may not be a fair assessment.

They have lost at home, two weeks in a row by mediocre teams. Air Force's record is good but, get serious, you are talking Mountain West. Boise has run with the big boys for the last ten or eleven years, but they can't do it know. Not sure what personnel is coming up, you never know until they hit the field, but I suspect with the exit of Petersen the recruiting is diminished.

I am not down on them, have had a great time, but time passes and I never like that. I always want to live in the past.

One thing I did notice about last night, is, even when things seemed so bleak that the game was beyond their reach, the Broncos found life with a single turnover, to wit they built moment from, giving themselves life.

They got back into the game. The defense became very active, and the offense believed they could win. Boise State proved they have a pulse, and the strength of heart to be competitive; even when the odds look to be insurmountable.

Compare that to Miami, who look horrendous when trailing by more than 1 score. The `Canes seem only to believe in themselves when they have the lead.

Versus the Falcons, Boise had come close to coming back, if not for late game clock mismanagement; may have gone into overtime.

However, they had a chance, regardless the minimal percentage it was; because they refused to quit playing. There is still talent in Boise. And they do have the fighting spirit to be in the game, even when down -- though, maybe not the season Broncos fans are use to; with expectations set high -- this program does have something positive to hang their hat [helmet] on.

I think this might just be a down year for them. They do have a younger team if I recall. If they come out flat again next year, then it might be time to start worrying about the Harsin regime. Boise has been so automatic over the last decade that it's hard to see them coming down a bit, but you never know.

They have trouble executing. That can be worked out. I think they will be all right. Harsin is a good coach, but he may have to make assistant adjustments.

I agree ...

If the Broncos could start a game as strongly as they finish it, they could be something special.

These things are fixable. Generally, execution comes down to discipline. And clearly, by the way they play at the end of their games, they have the potential to execute. So, there must be something missing in their discipline that is preventing them from starting with the necessary focus.

If the players are unable to relate to the direction by the assisting staff, then there is a good place to start.

They did all right yesterday against San Jose...but SJ is not exactly a power school. In Boise for the holiday and general consensus is Boise will stay home for the Potato Bowl. Not the worst thing. Will fill the stadium. Need to warm up. 13 degrees this morning.

As FSU attempts to become the second team to ever win 50 games in a four year period, I must pay homage to the first, and current only team to do so....Boise State.

Boise State 2008-11...50-3. And the three losses were by a combined 5 points.

Boise had a marvelous run...more marvelous in my hind sight.

I had a hot water tank fail on me yesterday. It flooded my utility room, kitchen, hallway, and bathroom. I didn't get to watch a game. I saw a little La Tech and Ark St. Late. I wasn't my best day.

I hope FSU does it. I am amazed of what draws me to "root" for teams. It is always something other than the football team.

Especially this. My floors were underwater. I was gone when it failed so it could have been gushing for 4 or 5 hours. I have to call the insurance company tommorrow. There is going to be damage, I just don't know how much until it drys.

It could be worse. I guy was at an Arbys where I live standing at the condiment counter and a truck came through the side of the building and he was killed. No one here is hurt. Stuff can be fixed or replaced. That family lost a son. My problems pale.

Boise has played everyone that was in attendance. Northern Illinois defense was just not at its best today.

Boise State sure looked good today against the Huskies. They stopped the bowl MAC attack in it's tracks. Not only did NIU's defense look bad; the NIU offense was made to look terrible. Nice win for the Bronco's.

Got to admit it...I left this game early to go listen to some bluegrass....it just got out of hand
