FSU's 1st Quarterback dies yesterday
It makes me realize how young FSU really is among the pantheon of storied programs. Donald Grant was FSU's quarterback in their first intercollegiate football game (since 1904). Even I am older than FSU football, and that is saying something.

They may be relatively young, but they have had a great run so far.

Watching the Middle Tennessee State game today, it came to me about how often that I have seen the football cycle come around.
MTSU's coach, Rick Stockstill was FSU's quarterback when my wife and I were going to games as a much younger version of ourselves 35 years ago....now his son Brent is quarterbacking MTSU.

Happy omen...this is the first Christmas full moon since 1977, Bowden's first winning season at FSU. And Stockstill took his first snap at FSU was that year as well.
