LET’S GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!!!!!!

Postby Mountainman » Thu Feb 17, 2022 7:42 pm

Appears the TV guys are about to start peeing on each other’s shoes, finger pointing, and bad mouthing one another……… saying not so nice things about one another like, “Your girlfriend is ugly and your momma wears Army Boots”.

……… let’s just hope and pray they get some play by play and color guys in the booth that are not self-promoters and know a football from a frisbee. 8)

1.1 Billion for the secondary contract doesn't suck.

I would imagine that FOX, CBS, ABC, ESPN, and ‘The Mouse’ would say “THAT SUCKS!!!!!”

Fox has the big contract. NBC was just paying for the nibbles. The amount of money being thrown around is crazy. Just imagine what Fox will have to do when their contract it up.

That’s my point……. With NBC floating around those kind of numbers they’ll reset the market for College Football TV Rights. 8) 8) 8)

What they are going to do is eliminate the competiveness of any conference not named B1G or SEC. Seems to me that that will be the begining of the end. They will get tired of playing themselves. But they probably won't get tired of patting themselves on the back for killing the sport.

Yep, I mentioned that in a previous post……. I’m seeing another division in College Football and more pilfering of existing conferences’ members, like Clemson, maybe Miami if they’re successful in their current efforts to bring back their glory days, and who knows what’s going to happen on the left coast.

I believe that’s why this ‘alliance’ between the BIG10, PAC12 and ACC popped up. The Texas and Oklahoma exit along with the demise of the NCAA put the handwriting on the wall…… and ‘The Mouse’ along with Greg Sankey are the drivers.

It’s become all about the money……..they’ve sold the game. :?

I guess it has always been about the money, just the money now is getting astronomical. The problem when you have two conferences demanding billions and the rest getting millions, how are those conferences going to survive. I don't see two 40 team conferences. There has to be a way to at least let the power 5 exist beyond two conferences.

I believe that’s exactly what the ‘Alliance’ is attempting to do. 8)

I am not sure. If the B1G was trying to bring the rest with them, why aren't they negotiating as a group. It seems to me that creating a bigger gap between the conferences in terms of money creates a competitive gap between them as well.

If they truly wanted a sound alliance, they should sign a block deal as a group. One that includes a post season.

If they’ve demonstrated anything it’s that they are indeed a cutthroat bunch who oftentimes don’t play and get along well with one another. Seems they’re in a constant state of turmoil ranging from conference realignment to suing their own governing body to robbing one another, etc, etc, etc.

Maybe they should reflect on what Ole Honest Abe said, ‘A house divided against itself cannot stand’………. 8) 8) 8)

I agree. I think where they made their big mistake was not being part of the same pie. A lot of that is the B10's fault. They have always had the most money and they had no inclination to enter into one league with conferences governed buy a board and a national commissioner. They are several different entities doing what is in their best interest with no regard for the other.
