Miami - v- Texas A & M

Postby Cane from the Bend » Sun Sep 18, 2022 2:03 pm

Well, congratulations to the Aggies for not losing this one ...

Seriously! We had them on number of plays, time of possession, yards produced, scoring field position, no sacks given up.

Play calling was terrible. Receivers still dropping balls when it counted most. Stupid penalties.

O, and "PLAY CALLING" was "TERRIBLE".

Think of this statistic.

Miami had 27 First Downs/O Touchdowns.

It's the first time since the year 2000, that a team had 27 First Downs without getting into the End Zone.

Honestly, you're down 17-6, inside 5 minutes, and inside your opponents 8 yard line. You run up the middle on 3rd Down?

Red Zone short field ... Literally, the look inside the 10 was to have no look.

Play calling around the goal was so plain, that Vanilla wants to hit us with a law suit for Trademark Infringement.

Down at the 5, and it felt like we ran the ball to protect the FG, when the score was 17-6. And we were 1-2 on FG's up to that point.

We weren't out played. We weren't out coached. We weren't out schemed. We weren't unprepared for the environment.

I felt as though the coaching staff was too afraid to try opening it up, that they were scheming to lose, in hopes of not getting blown out.

Just ... ... ... ... what?!?

………. sounds similar to what’s been going on with the Mountaineers, Coach’s playing off a script, trying not to lose instead of trying to win.

With all the money that A&M spent on players, you would think they would be blowing everyone out.

I was hoping Miami would win this one. It would make me chuckle at the implosion of A&M.
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

Not an A&M fan...

A $10 million a year coach, $30 million NIL team, a loss to Appalachian State....priceless.

The way that guy left Tallahassee; this must have made you raise an eyebrow, nod your head with a stoic expression and say:
"Yep. You get what you pay for".

I know that usually goes the other way. Still, the NIL money is being cashed out to individual personalities, and not being reinforced with leadership and unity.

One could suggest that, with this sort of talent haul, you just need to give them a chance to adjust and gel.

But, it's year 5.

How much more time do they need?
