“The NCAA does not get one penny from football……”
”We’re already in a time where the on-field aspect of College Football is almost a distraction. It’s an era filled with handwringing about player empowerment, NCAA deregulation, the transfer portal and realignment all while the sport generally moves toward a professional model.” ~ Dennis Dodd

They never have. That is why they could care less about football. But.... The schools care.

Exactly ...
That's why it's difficult to talk to people who are media learned, believing that the NCAA is making Billions off of the backs of these players, all due to how the talking heads use misdirection when comparing the nfl to College Football.
Football revenue is a Conference and School name brand commodity. It's why staying Independent for Notre Dame is so important. They are not beholden to a Conference Committee.
Personally, rather than joining the Big 10 and SEC, I'd like to see Miami, fsu, Clemson and ND all form an Independent Coalition, along with maybe Oregon & Washington, that would see a round robin with these six, then affording them all to back load the rest of the schedule freely.
If they formed said alliance, with the intent on sharing a Media Rights package, they could easily find a network willing pony up for this grouping that would rival any Conference proposal.

Hmmmmmm…….. so, if College Football doesn’t contribute ‘one penny’ to the NCAA, I wonder who gets these dollars????

The conferences split it up amongst the members.
