Wonky Day ...

Postby Cane from the Bend » Sat Nov 04, 2023 2:46 pm

Texas is finally pulling away, some. K-State has been playing them tough. I expected they would, but, I also assumed the Horns would have stretched the lead earlier.

A&M was really putting the pressure on Ole Miss. I'm not even so sure the Rebels aren't staying ahead without the help of the guys in the striped shirts. The calls have been questionable. There is always something comforting in sweet home cooking.

What is happening in Piscataway? The Buckeyes look like they're beginning to pull it together. But I can't tell if it's been sloppy play, or just finding the right key match ups. But Rutgers shouldn't be this close, this late. OSU getting into the end zone now, gives them some cushion. But they cannot let up. Because the other guys aren't going to stop.

Clemson might be ready to reclaim Clemsoning. They had ND on the ropes ... just like they had fsu, Mimai and NC State. The Irish have been behind the whole game, and even by 18 points. Since, there's a surge by the Leprechauns, and have out played and out scored the Tigers. The refs called Offensive Interference on the gold hats, and Clemson was able to get the ball back. We'll see, but, the Dome's D is showing up right now.

There's a reason I put this one on the Pick'ems. South Carolina has been staying just ahead by one score every exchange. Until now. Shane is going to take some major heat if this keeps up, as is. Jacksonville State took the lead 28-21. We've seen coaches get the immediate boot after losses like these. Still, 5:30 in the 3rd quarter, so it's far from over. Though, it's not supposed to be this close ... at least, the fans are going to opine as much, and they're most certainly going to be sure you know that.

Nebraska is looking to finally get Bowl eligibility. But can They? Michigan St is bad. I mean Terrible bad. And they have the lead. Most of the 4th to go, yet. But Sparty just scored a TD, and takes a 20-10 lead.

Speaking of trying to gain Bowl Eligibility, Wisconsin is struggling with Indiana. The Hoosiers aren't putting points on the board this half, but, they're doing just enough to keep the Badgers from tying things up. Right now it's become a punt fest. They're playing for field position. Sooner or later, someone is going to have to take a chance.

Well, Kansas St is proving to be a difficult sort. They just exploded, and have tied it up. They should have the lead by 1. But a botch extra point leaves the game in a 27/27 lock.

The Scarlet Knights scored a quick TD to keep life alive. The Buckeyes now respond with a TD of their own.

The Aggies are creeping up to the line. They can scored a TD, drawing within 3.

South Carolina has tied the game at 28, and have gotten the ball back. They're going to need to finish this drive with points.

Wisky and Indy still trading punts.

Well, Texas was able to get the W in Overtime ...

No sure I would have went for it on 4th down and goal from there, for K-State, when all you need is a FG to extend the game.

It didn't even remotely feel like they had a chance of getting that, at any point. Your running game was what got you back into the game, and kept it alive. Maybe a little bit too much bravado.

Ole Miss was able to get a late FG with 1:40 to go in the game, taking a 3 point lead.

They had to lace it up on that last drive though. Because A&M really pushed the field.

That one could very easily have gone the other way.

38-35 win for the Rebs

Michigan went 31-7 on Rutgers and they new the plays.
Rutgers D is solid. The offense, not so much.

Arkansas is doing their best to keep flurDah! from obtaining Bowl eligibility ...

Going to overtime.

Because the lizards missed a mid range FG to finish out regulation.

If the Razorbacks win, it will be their first Conference win for this season.

Come'on Ark!

Since I was in Colorado last week, the only games I watched were USC and Colorado.

I will say that USC has absolutely zero run defense. It's not USC nor Washington actually had any defense on the field. It was just score after score for a while.
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

I hate that brand of football. Defense should matter. That has been Ohio State's issue the last few years, the offense was trying to outscore what the defense was allowing.
