CFB Withdrawl Symptoms

Postby Eric » Mon Jan 16, 2006 9:30 am

I'm feeling them already. These months are SO hard!!!

I have to get used to the feeling of Saturdays being dominated by college basketball now. It's unreal how fast this season went. Just a couple weeks ago, I was in my hotel down in Arkansas watching a re-run of Tulsa-Minnesota and UCF-South Carolina at 3 in the morning!!

What is your best suggestion guys? The hardest of any month is summer, because the only sport that is going on is baseball. Now I like baseball, I just get so sick and tired of it around August. Then the cravings really bother me because it is so close!

What do you do to get by?

I'm wearing my DVR out watching the last 6 minutes of the Rose Bowl over and over. This is my methodone to get me through to next season.

Then how come you believe that college football should move to a playoff format? It is not my intention to be adversial here and it is not my intent to embarrass anyone or gain any sort of 'edge' in the difference of opinions on the matter.

I believe that everyone is entitled to their opinion just as much as I am or anyone else, but based on this statement I am curious about the reasoning used to formulate the opinion that college football should move to a playoff. Is there a differerence here that I'm missing?

O.K. Now I understand what you meant. 8)

Nah, not my style to intentionally embarrass folks .......... unless, in my judgement, they need it.

There's a lot of fans and opinions around here. Folks have every right to root for who they chose and think what they want. I don't believe the universe is going to explode or implode if someone views things different than I do.

I mean I'm not a vengeful guy just because I paid a voodoo lady to put a hex on Eric because he picked the Mountaineers to be one of the most disappointing teams in 2006.

What is your best suggestion guys?

When the season is over, I go full speed into recruiting. NLOID is Feb. 1. After that I bide my time until the spring game. Trying to find out who among the newbies are for real. The time after the spring game until preseason camp starts is the really hard time because you get that taste for football back and then the game is over and you have to wait until August.

As far as other sports go, I watch March Madness and Spring training games until baseball season start and play a little golf until August.

I mean I'm not a vengeful guy just because I paid a voodoo lady to put a hex on Eric because he picked the Mountaineers to be one of the most disappointing teams in 2006.

In that case I'm picking WVU to win it all next season. Make sure you inform that Voodoo lady.

Hey, can ya do me a favor and send me a doll for Ryan Perriloux, he committed to Texas until Feb 1st, and all the other qb's Texas was recruiting didn't go to Texas because Periloux was. Then again, he got what he deserved by now being #3 on his team. He'd have a ring and a starting spot. Send the doll anyway.

Sure thing Yeofoot. I'll have to catch another bat so Madam Ruth can use it in her potion .... you know when she mixes that stuff up she uses a lot of ingredients ... snake blood, toad warts, cat fur, mouse nose, bat wing, all kinds of stuff. She told me she was out of bat wing and asked if I would bring her some. I wouldn't even consider saying no to her.

Yeah, in college, they play every down likes it's the last down they might ever play. In the Pro's they play like they're making sure that it's not the last down they ever play.

That is because the owners treat like commodities. In order for them to play harder, the players union needs to gain more strength, need to get better benefits for injured player. They need to demand longer contracts.

The NFL having a playoff is not what makes it so much more boring than college... It's the fact that these goons in the NFL don't have the passion that college players have. It's their day job and they show it on the field. I hate all the attitudes in the NFL.

I agree completely. The NFL doesn't have 1/100 the passion that drives CFB. Not even close.
