Thanks for the post. I've been meaning to look up the new rules for this coming season and you just saved me the trouble. The rationale is of particular interest to me.

:evil: what's with all the tryin to make the games shorter?
seems like longer games=more t.v. time=more commercials=more money???

Rule 1-4-5-s, Eye Shields
Change: In the illegal equipment rules, only eye shields that are completely clear will be allowed.
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.
