Another Upset Weekend?

Postby Vileborg » Mon Oct 25, 2010 12:07 pm

The nail biting starts Thursday IMO:

I think Florida St. will be ok on Thursday against NC St. They are a physical team and I think they should be alright going into the wolves den but I still expect it to be close.

Auburn better not be looking past Mississippi. Ole Miss is one of those spoiler teams. The last few years they've knocked off a top 10 team and there is still an empty spot on the wall for 2010.

The list just keeps going:

USC & Oregon
Mich St. & Iowa
Nebraska & Missouri
Utah & Air Force
Colorado & Oklahoma (Colorado has already earned the life time spoiler achievement award.)
Washington & Stanford (Washington keeps beating the people it shouldn't and losing to teams it should and they shouldn't beat Stanford or should they?)
Arizona & UCLA (If identity crisis was a team name it would be UCLA.)
Oklahoma St. & Kansas St. (To me theres not a whole lot of difference for these two teams, not sure a Kansas win would be much of an upset.)
Miss. St & Kentucky (Wow, the bulldogs in a position to get upset? Miss St. has the record for longest consecutive years with a top 25 upset, the records in jeopardy.)
Texas & Baylor (Poor Baylor poised to break into the winning season column with its first one in years and having Texas as the underdog.)

I think thats the big ones but I counted 12 games of the top 25 that play. 5 of those 12 are undefeated. Only Boise and TCU have walk over games, and if they lose I'm dropping them from my top 25 entirely. The remaining six teams that play should be alright but you never know what the weather or college football is going to do.

This is the biggest game of the year for NC State and FSU. The winner will probably take the division.

Wilson at QB can really hurt you on a good night. Against BC he was 42-56. Us Nole fans hate these away games on Thursday nights. Our record is pitiful. FSU, because the stadium is in the middle of campus, won't play at home on a weeknight but the new AD and Prez are trying to address that.

But, Vegas is saying FSU -4. I hope it is not as tight as Vegas has it.

Is that because it would be too disruptive for classes on game day? I can understand that. But I think there is big money and exposure doing the weekday games. One of the other "tricks" the "team not to be mentioned" did was jump on that bandwagon early on.

Donovan...the stadium parking lots are used for student parking during weekdays. FSU has a small campus and a dearth of parking.

That is the issue. UCLA uses the golf course that surrounds the Rose Bowl. Sometimes tickets are available at some stadiums and parking is not. Boise not so much of a problem. The stables hold quite a few horses and the mules just find their own niche. But those John Deere's..that presents a problem.

  Ohio State has plenty of John Deere's from surrounding counties, but none in the city. Ohio State has lots and lots of parking, but all of it is permit parking so you can't park there. There are some fields the school owns out on Lane avenue and parking garages all over the city where you can park and take a bus to the campus area. With all the parking, on gameday there it is hard to find a place. There are 105,000+ people in the stadium and 2 to 300.000 outside the stadium tailgating. Even in a fairly good size city like Columbus, throwing that many people into the mix on a work and school day, makes things tough. Ohio State does it's best to stay away from Thursday games. I think we have played two ever.

This is Michigan State's week. "Down goes Sparty!"

City? You have cities? OMG...Maybe thats the secret ingredient that BSU needs. Build a City and "They" will come.

Gotta find a new place for Donovan's mules though.
Win or Lose - IT'S HOW YOU HYPE THE OUTCOME! BCS logic: When teams in the AQ conferences lose, it shows how tough those conferences are; when teams in non-AQ conferences lose, it is weakness.

People call Columbus a cow town, but it has been a few years since we had cows in the city -------------well except for the ones on the Ohio State ag farm.

Ole Miss couldn't bust a grape with a sledge hammer and help! So, yeah, Auburn better be on the wise.

They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.
