Maryland vs Miami

Ok - those MD uniforms/helmets are horrible. Please tell me this is a one game thing.

I agree. There are some really bad uni's this year. Those may be the worst. Still nice effort stretching to get that TD.

Ridiculous! It looks like something from EU futbol but worse! Does the NCAA have as review committee for uniforms? Those things are distracting!

Is that Under Armour design? It has bombed for me but, I am older and a traditionalist. The younger crowd my say they are "groovy". LOL
The preceding statements are solely the opinion of GoBoilers and are, therefore, probably not based whatsoever on fact, research or more time in thought than what was required to physically type them. They're probably correct anyway, so you shouldn't argue too much, because otherwise he'll just blather on forever. On the internet Al Gore invented.

Could be..but when I was younger I don't recall thinking football uniforms were groovy, cool, or anything else...any more so than my father, or my grandfather for that matter. All viewing generations should matter! To me it looks like Nike and UA aren't even trying...and I am serious about that! Like they are spinning a color wheel and building the theme in bingo fashion.

Let me say this as nice (and early) as I can, "Maryland Stinks!" If you can't do any better against this depleted squad than what they are showing......?????

But the Miami O is less depleted and they look to be what will give Miami the ability to win. Maryland's D is about that, " Mary-Land".

And as bad Maryland's uniforms are, Golden's tie is even uglier! He should fire his wife.

Hey, speaking of whether these are a "1 game thing" or not! I will lay money right now that within the next 2 years...some team will do 1/2 game uniforms! (Changing at half time.)   (I seriously think it will happen.)

Like I said, Miami stinks. :D

I don't know what happened. Miami looked really good on O for the first 4 drives when I got over to the game, Maryland was up 7 when I turned it on. Miami should have gotten a few more points even then. I thought sure Miami was going to beat them by 2 TDs before it was all said and done????

Those uniforms makes the very worst of all others seem not so bad. Miami in one game becomes a non factor.....coaching was almost non existent.

No kidding! I didn't watch the game in protest. I couldn't watch it outside of my initial glance, it was too difficult on my eyes (and I'm not exaggerating  ).

I watched the game in its entirety. My somewhat jumbled early morning thoughts...

....The uni's were so bad that they did distract from the viewing experience...almost as bad as Boise's blue on blue field. She Who Must Be Obeyed (my darlin' wife) asked me if any team could wear what ever they wanted. "Blame bell cow Oregon and the west coast's slick, sunglass wearing, marketing fashionista's for this nonsense", I grunted. My knowledgable sweetie asked "and who will hold the guns on the Penn State stands when the Lions come out wearing something that looks like a a badly painted crash test dummy?"

....Miami needs its starters back on defense. Maryland had nine drives, eight of which went to the red zone. The CB's were having real problems. The Canes started bring them up to contain the run and swing pass and then O'Brien would find his deep and intermediary reads.

....Morris played better than I had expected. He looked better than he ever has (well, he has been pretty horrible). Some of that was Maryland's defense.

....Maryland doesn't have the running power to punch into the end zone on a very short field.

....The WVU-Maryland game should be interesting. I watched all of the WVU-Marshall game that mother nature allowed and WVU was one dimensional against Marshall. Could not run. Maryland's D line is at least as good as Marshall's...the problem for the Terps is that their back court will have problems with WVU's receivers.

Its bad enough UA or Nike or whoever designed that mess it is even worse that someone at MD approved them.

Poor clock mgt by MD at the end of that game, after the big pass that put them around the 20 they left about 35 seconds on the play clock from snapping early on 2nd and 3rd down. Plus the TD and missed extra point could have really bitten them.

The fact that Maryland, playing at home, could not put away a Miami team missing eight of its starters, was a small surprise. Many did not realize that the Canes did not have a defensive front line starter in this game.

I had the Terps for the win, but it was closer than I thought it would have been, Give Miami back it's defensive line studs a little later in the season and they might be a handful for anyone.

Maryland can pass...but their running game will get stuffed versus teams like FSU and UNC. The red zone will see Maryland's kicker a lot this year, I think. Trading three for seven will lose them some games. O'Brien will move them down the field. He is a marvelous passer and can hit windows that are dish cloth sized.
