The Buckeyes
This can't even be real!
Never have I seen such a pathetic passing game. I don't even know how such a storied program fields a passing game like that? Crazy to me.

Re: The Buckeyes
It's the story with the Big 10 so far--Poor QB play. This is why Nebraska and Wisconsin ought to be heavy favorites to win the conference. They can utilize the forward pass. Cousins is adequate, Denard can't throw downfield very well when guys are covered, Vandenburg is a work in progress, Purdue's backups are mediocre, Dan Persa is still out, and Penn State's situation is obvious.

Re: The Buckeyes
May be the general case in the Big-10, but 4/17 for 35 yards w/ 1 INT. That is a net negative passing game. Ridiculous! Triple Option teams do notably better, Those are numbers you get from a High School running team that tried to pass in the second after getting down by 20.

Re: The Buckeyes
I have not yet watched the Buckeyes play this year. I have the game on the recorder and will watch this afternoon. The box score makes the passing game look really ineffective and I couldn't believe the Buckeyes were held out of the end zone. Two FG's is the worst offensive performance since the 2008 So Cal loss.
I suspect that 2011 will be like 2008 for the Bucks, a couple of losses due to the lack of offense but still a 10 win season.

The score doesn't begin to show the pounding Ohio State took yesterday. Bauserman is a sixth year player, he is a good mop up guy. He won't turn the ball over and he knows the offense, past that I don't know why the coaches think he could somehow get better after being that guy for the five previous years. Braxton Miller, on the other hand has talent, but no experience and he got his first real taste of game speed yesterday. The coaches should have put him in from the first game to take his lumps and get experience, but that isn't what happened, Miami isn't "back" yet either. It was a case of a decent team beating the crap out of a pathetic one. Ohio State should get marginally better when we get out suspended players back, but without a QB who can operate a passing game, people are just going to stack the box and dare them to try and throw. Like I said last week, it is going to be a long fall for Buckeye fans. I'm not sure we can get bowl eligible this year.
We may have to go to the read option to even complete.
