Re: SEC Championship

Postby Cane from the Bend » Sat Dec 03, 2011 7:03 pm

Anyone else notice:

SEC Championship Game 4:00 pm

ACC Championship Game 8:00 pm
Big Ten Championship Game 8:00 pm
Oklahoma/Okie State game, winner is Big XII Champion 8:00 pm

I understand the want to have the SEC title game on at a separate time, in that, this game has so much riding on the National Championship.

I do not get pitting the other Championship Games into the same time slot. This divides up the ratings.

Everybody wants a prime-time game; and yet, they will be in direct confrontation for viewership.

Well, not necessarily; they would have had the ball 1rst & goal at the 1 yard line. There was still over a minute and a half left in the 2cnd quarter.

The angle that he threw the ball, I think it may have gone into the end zone and therefore a touchback. Actually, the ball went out of bounds at least 1 yard deep in the end zone. It should have been Georgia's ball at the 20 yard line.

Interestingly, after it was mentioned it has not since been talked about. They may have gotten the word to drop it.

He tossed the ball to the line judge who was standing on the one. The ball never crossed the line.

Either way, had Georgia had a goal line stand, there is no telling whether Miles would have went for it on 4th down; or simply took the 3.

Field goals get blocked, and sometimes miss. And, even had they successfully kick a field goal; they would have only 3 points right now, not 7.

  Give him a break he is getting up there.

Last year Greg Childs caught a pass ran 60 yards, fumbled on the 1 yard line, and Ark recovered the ball in the endzone. The play was under review and Lundquist said they were reviewing the play to determine if it was a catch. He then went on to say he was not sure if it was a catch or not. I was floored. Danielson finally stepped in and corrected him. By big complaint is their love affair with three or SEC teams.

At least he is consistent in his ineptitude.

They just showed the replay and it hit the officials hand that was 1 yard deep in the end zone, and deflected out of bounds at about the minus 2.

Yep, no doubt, he released the ball outside of the endzone; but the forward momentum carried the ball over the plane.

Georgia fumbled, now they have 12 on the field.
Not a good 2cnd half start.

LSU might just take over. Their depth, is what wore Arkansas down last week. I don't really know who I want to win. I think I would rather see LSU win and wind up unbeaten going into the rematch with Bama. Oh, and I WILL watch it.

Man, that was embarrassing for Georgia ... they can't get the angles.

Crap. This is looking very much like Arkansas. A good start, but a 2nd & 3rd quarter comeback that turns into a LSU blowout... :( Too bad, I would have liked to see this season finish with no undefeateds (and no SEC West rematch. Go Cowboys.).

Georgia needs to hold here; they need to recapture the momentum.

I think the depth of LSU makes the difference. More good players.
