Week 5 Top 25 Upset Alerts

Postby Vileborg » Tue Sep 25, 2012 12:14 am

Major Alerts

Cincinnati over Virginia Tech - Man I hope not but Cincy has been impressive in their first two games. Their numbers are much better than VT.

Possibles

I'm not feeling a lot of upsets this week. If Arkansas cam come together I think they have a shot at Texas A&M.

I think Stanford takes care of Washington,
Alabama over Ole Miss,
SC should cruise by Kentucky,
Tennessee may give Georgia a run but I think that's only for a half at most,
WVU handles Baylor,
Texas takes care of Ok St.
Even think OSU by 7-10 over Mich St.

Crazy Calls

My irony has irony.

Arizona over Oregon St. - Oregon St. for reelz this time. I need to see more Offense out of Oregon St. to be sold.

Ohio State's backers and db's can't tackle. Look for LeVeon Bell to run wild. It may get ugly.

There's a game flying under the radar this weekend.

Texas Tech & Iowa St.

The Big12 has 6 teams in the AP top 25 and these two are not on it at 3-0. Arguably with Oklahoma St. on the verge they have 9 teams in the top30. The big12 is about to get bloody and I think this will be a good start. In most conferences I think the winner of this game would be the team to watch but in the big12 this year the winner will only get a brutal schedule.

Good point on the ISU/TTU game. It should be very competitive and both teams do have question marks. I think the Big 12 is awesome this year and is probably going to be my favorite conference out of the Big 6 to watch this year. You know you're going to get very interesting matchups on a weekly basis.

Miami-NC State.....is Miami coming on? They pounded GT late. I like the Canes to win...although I would not shed a tear if they go down in flames.

Illinois-Penn State...pulling for the Lions and the guys who are still holding the rope.

Texas-OK State....big game for one of these guys. In a round robin, one team has to lose twice once they own the head to head. Have not a clue who will win but I think Texas in a close one.

I think Michigan State beats OSU.

I think Ok St beats Texas in a close one.

And I think Texas A&M will completely, and totally destroy Arkansas....I think this game gets out of hand quickly. My honest prediction is: Texas A&M 65 - Arkansas 21. If A&M can hang 80 on Arkansas they will. They smell blood and want revenge.

Texas is flying under a few radars too. I think this weekend will be where they start to get noticed more. The winds of change have blown through Austin and I like what I'm seeing.

AND the first game of the week, down goes Stanford.

I never realized they had such issues with their receivers. TE's were outstanding but the WR's let a lot of points slip through their fingers.

Arkansas out two more starters for Texas A&M: all sec TE Chris's Gragg hurt in first quarter of Rutgers game, and safety Eric Bennett.

When will the bleeding stop?

Not this year, Doss....next year.

Last year FSU led the nation in number of lost starts....and it started in fall camp and carried to late in the season...it got so bad that FSU started four true freshmen on the O line in the bowl game, including a 17 year old.

This year, knock on wood...not near as bad. Lost starting DE and starting CB and that is really all so far.

So...it may be next year before the hoo doo lifts.

I'm not sure what to think of Oregon State. I was an early adopter putting them in my rankings, and they proved themselves against UCLA. Arizona meanwhile is still solid. Last week was more about Oregon being crazy good than their being awful. This game is a pick...

Cinci-VT, I've been watching that line. Hasn't budged from 6.5 since Wednesday... They don't want to give Cinci 7, let alone 7.5, keeping control on that one.

Down the line also watching Western Kentucky/Arkansas St. and a decent enough Louisiana Tech to be favored at Virginia.

If Oregon State beats the Wildcats, and I think they will, they will be thorn in the side of many. Their QB Sean Mannion is making people believe he may be the real deal. If the Beavers prevail, then I think future opponents will have to try and figure how to deal with OSU and when you start changing your strategy for a given team, normally it does not work. I, think low scoring with the Beaver by 10.

Oregon is for real. The offensive line dominates, receivers are quick, even more than quick, they run great routes with out giving up the speed and after the first quarter the defense is so tired... it has been all over.

The Nike bought and owned Oregon Ducks should skate tonight.
