2007-8 UL basketball

Postby Swamp Daddy » Mon Nov 12, 2007 9:16 pm

Well, so far I've watched the two exhibition games against nobodies and UL looked very slick indeed with passing like a senior dominated team.

A tournament is next and easy opponents at first. We'll see if they play like this when the going gets tougher against some quality opponents...but, it should be a good year for them.

Hi: So far the pattern has been rough  first halves followed by blistering 2nd halves :P . The win over UNLV was like this too. But, even without Padgett they looked super in the 2nd half.

tougher games are coming up and conference play will tell us much.

Well, another tough game, Miami of Ohio, under the belt. This team will either be tough as nails by the new year or worn out and falling apart.

Palacious should be back. Not sure about Padgett though he says he will be ready toward the end of the year.

Well, after UL football slid into the tank I was really looking forward to this year's basketball team. I am now thinking things aren't as bright as I had supposed with the injuries and the continuing problems with Derek Character's character (pun intended).

Well, with Character back and going most of the game without fouling out they looked ok against the Aggies; but, not like they should have.

Hard to believe that loss to Cincinnati; but, with both Padgett and Palacious back things should go up. Hopefully, the A team ( ) will show up to play Kentucky.

Well, with the "A" team back, healthy and playing as a unit we've won the last 4 games (4 of 5 in January so far) and the remaining 4 in January look to be the weaker part of the schedule and should be winable.

Things are looking up at the moment,

Despite another conference loss we've moved into second :D with 2 more conference wins. The Big East is beating up on each other in basketball much like the SEC does occasionally in football. Swamp Daddy 8)

6 straight in February, a slight run under way. 4 more games to go. A tie for first :D in the Big East and looking healthy for a run in the NCAA. 8)

Two tough road games, 2 home games. Then the BE tourney.

WOW, looking as good as I've seen any team in awhile. A couple of more games like this and I'll start beleiving the hype Petino puts out.

UL 79
Boise State 61 on Friday.

and it wasnt' that close.

UL 81
Oklahoma 51

a real blowout which I did not expect. I do feel UL will beat Tennessee; but, NC will be the real test.
