Oden A Disappointment Versus Florida

Postby BYUfan1 » Sat Dec 23, 2006 5:54 pm

About a minute and a half left in the first half, and Ohio State is down 36-27. Greg Oden only has 4 points (1-3 from the field) and 2 blocks. I thought Oden would dominate this game. He is much stronger than Joakim Noah and Al Horford is playing with a bad ankle. I know Oden is basically playing with one hand, but he should be doing better than that. He is not making himself available for the basketball. The only good point about this game is that it shows Oden might need another year of college before he is ready for the pros.

And that is a plus for Ohio State.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Oden has only played a few games and he has played one handed. Most of the team is very young. Half are 18-19 years old. Let them have some time to learn. None of these games matter anyway except as a gauge to let them see where they need to be in March.
