Tim Hardaway and Liberal Hypocrisy

Postby Eric » Fri Feb 16, 2007 11:06 pm

Wow, I love the hypocrisy

Okay, Hardaway is a moronic bigot. There's a fine line between thinking that homosexuality is morally wrong and hating the person who practices such a thing. The guy was just 180 degrees off target with his hateful viewpoints towards people like John Amaechi. I'm glad that he has recieved all of this condemnation and that the NBA has dumped him.

Still, this has shed some light that nobody seems to be picking up on. I always thought that we had to put up with stupid crap like what Hardaway said when it comes to other stuff. Whether it be having to put up with William Arkin's hateful diatribe about our troops, protests at soldier's funerals, people calling Bush a war criminal, nude people flashing children on school buses (that was brought to light yesterday), orginaztions like NAMBLA, Israel protests that involve anti-Semitical Hezbollah-supporters, and other stupid crap that the ACLU would support.

It's amazing. Whenever conservatives attack something ridiculous and try to hold people accountable (and not say that their right should be taken away to do/say such things), people on the Left always like to tell us how their 1st ammendment freedoms are under assault by people criticizing what they said and not their right to say it. Where are people on the Left defending Hardaway's idiotic tantrum? They'll defend the most moronic of crap but not this? Shouldn't this kind of idiocy be tolerated?

The world is full of hypocrisy. It is that way on the other side as well. Most conservatives condemn abortion, but support the death penalty. Most liberals support abortion, but condemn the death penalty. Animal rights activists condemn the killing of animals for any reason, but have no problem killing a cockroach that makes it into their house.

I'm not a big fan of the death penalty. Unless you're dealing with an absolute monster, I don't think that anybody should be put to death because there is always that chance that they are wrongly convicted.

Even so, the difference between that is that an unborn baby has done absolutey nothing to be aborted. It's not guilty of anything besides existing. And it would be wrong to put an end to a life that is innocent.

I don't disagree, unless it comes down to a choice between saving the life of the mother or the child, then I would vote to save the one I can see.

I have never been for the death penalty. I have alway been for putting them in a 6x9 cell with no windows. Feeding then through a slot in the door and not allowing them to see daylight for the rest of their lives. That is prison should be. No radio, no TV, absolutely no human contact, except for medical care. Prison should be just that, prison.

If you have someone who commits a ton of atrocities (whenever Osama gets captured, Charles Manson, etc.) I would be for the death penalty. There would be no reason for them to be living.

And, I agree with you too. Prison should be somewhere that you wouldn't want to stay. My word, some people who have commited horrible crimes have a better standard of living than someone on the street.

I just figure that I have no right to decide anyone should die, unless it is a self defense situation. While I would agree that the world would be a better place without a Charles Manson in it, I don't feel it is right to condone murder, for any reason.

Well, maybe you're right. Maybe humans shouldn't "cast the first stone".

That is my whole point. That doesn't mean that we should make their remaining days pleasant, though.

I also believe that every person in jail for comitting a capital offense should get a rope in their cell, just in case they decide they want to be judged early on their own.

The death penalty is a viable punishment for anyone who commit's first degree (pre-mediated) murder.

And im not talking about mass killings, I believe it's important even for someone as small as OJ Simpson (who only killed 2 people).

And I dont believe it's a contradiction to be Pro-Life and support the death penalty. One is punishment for ending an innocent person's life, and one believe's that abortion should not be used as birth control, and should only be allowed in cases where the doctor's fear for the mothers health or life.

Im completely in favor, or ramping up the death penalty's usage for 1st degree offenses. Im also tired of tax dollars going to support their 30 year appeals processes.

I'm not saying that there is no difference between aborting an innocent life and ending the life of someone who commits an evil act. The end result is the same, though. I don't feel sorry for a murderer that gets put to death, I just think we are letting them out of this life easy.

It costs more to kill someone on death row then to keep them. I believe that prison should be a cell, no outside contact except with a lawyer, and no radio, tv, or any other outside communication. They should be left with only their thoughts for the rest of their life.

If that's all it was, I would agree that their are circumstances where that would be more punishment than just ending it for them.

But as it stands, they live as well as you or I.

Maybe not as well as you and I, but too good. I agree. That doesn't mean we need to kill them. We need to change the system to a system that only makes them wish they were dead.
