Hey, Husker1, welcome back.

It is indeed difficult and worrisome to be away from the ones you care about ..... especially when they go in harms way. Hang in there and be sure to tell Nicole when you talk to her that all of us here at CFP say 'hello' and be sure to thank her for all of us for her service to our country.

Not a better ship to be on.

Not to be too political...but the name of the ship alone would make me proud to serve on her.

I was on the USS Ogden(LPD-5), not a carrier and definately not named after a man that practically rebuilt the Navy, there were 600 ships when he left office.
