I had no idea ESPN hired Steele either.

Re: My Too-Early-Top-25
This would be my revamped top 25. This is just after soaking up a little more information (I've been so engrossed in baseball this summer and my work time has cut into my preseason football preparation
) combined with some recent news. I don't know what it is about Texas A&M, but this Johnny Manziel stuff is reaching a boiling point. Not sure if he's focused on the season and I'm having more doubts about the offensive line. Everett Golson leaving Notre Dame is a problem. I still think they'll be fine and win 8 or 9 games, but that's enough for me to drop them out of the top 10. I'm also liking Miami the more I read about them. They're tied with a couple other teams for having the most returning starters in the country. I'm not expecting them to win the ACC or anything, but if they finish 8-4, you could argue that they're top 25 worthy at the end of the season.

Re: My Too-Early-Top-25
I'd have FSU higher...the defense will be great, the O line experienced, and the QB play the only question. Many of my questions about QB play were answered in the spring game....The Vegas line has FSU favored in every game save two (+2 @ Clemson and + 2 @ Florida).
I'd not have Stanford as high and would have Oklahoma State higher...and UNC would drop out of my top 25...Northern Illinois would be close to #25.
Michigan State would be in there above Michigan...about #22 and 23.

Re: My Too-Early-Top-25
Yeah I think Florida State will be fine. I'm a little worried about the QB situation, with him being a freshman and all, but he does sound very talented. Freshman QBs have come up before and excelled, he could be one of the special ones. I guess my rank is kind of precautionary. I'm not as close to the situation as you are though.
Oklahoma State sounds good, but it's a wait and see thing for me. Not sure how I feel about the defense. Also, I'm not sure what it is about Michigan this year, but they aren't getting a lot of preseason hype. I think they can surprise people and win 10 games, and if you remember me for the last six or seven years, I'm pessimistic about Michigan football 90% of the time

I think for the first time in 10 or so years you have reason to be optimistic about Michigan football. They seem to have the lines taken care or and that will go a long way toward them accomplishing their goals this year.

Who do you have Clemson losing to??
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

Let the games begin...and the yearly redundancy. Now what is the difference between at 11-2 Georgia and a 11-2 Boise State? I forget.

Boise State just caught Georgia at a bad time; it was the very beginning of the season, of course. Georgia improved and became SEC-caliber down the stretch and were thus better than Boise State at the end of the season

Isn't Boise that school in which fields a five year freshman at the quarterback position, then sees him graduate after his 2cnd junior year?

I know Boise had that great quarterback who played, what?, at least seven years?.
