Pac 37 Football

On the basis of hope, wishing and a a "system" usinging spectral Fourier analysis:

Oregon State University stands a chance to make a difference in the PAC 12. Riley has the team disciplined and the offensive line seems quick. The defensive secondary should be able to do their job. Riley just dismissed a red shirt freshman for aberrant behavior which is a scare crow for the rest that feel there is not enough excitement in Corvallis; an observation that does not take a GED. I like Riley as Coach and a gentleman. Both Mannion and Vaz at quarterback give as strong as depth as you could want. I'm guessing Mannion will be number one.

The big prediction Washington State will go to a bowl game. That's it. Leach, despite all of his issues, Leach is a good football coach. The will win one of their first two games, Auburn and USC.. and will get into a bowl.....

The obvious...Colorado will flounder and Utah will whine....and both will wonder...why did we sign up for this....?

I think leach is a good offensive coach. I'm not so sold on his defensive prowess. I do think Colorado will fail, but I think Utah will do fine. They have a solid program.

Utah is one of my sleepers, but only to go to a bowl game. I think they'll win 6 or 7 games, but since nobody is talking about them, that makes them something of a sleeper. Arizona State is my pick to win the South and receive the right to get hammered by the Stanford/Oregon winner. I saw something on ESPN where Phil Steele was inclined to say USC can compete for a BCS title. I assume Phil Steele just had a bad night's sleep :lol:

He still thinks it is last season ... when many of the talking heads showed their in ability to see past their bias ... preseason ranking usc #1.

If Steele is an espn analyst now.
Then he's fitting right in. :wink:

Nobody will have more five star players on the field at the same time then USC will. If they get QB play, they can put up some W's.

I agree. But that's a big if. Max Wittek looked pretty raw in his limited duty. But you never know how a guy will progress over a full offseason of preparation. I think a more realistic prediction for USC is 8-4. What Steele probably likes about them (I can't read it since I don't have Insider) is the schedule; no Oregon from the North and hosting Stanford. I still think having road dates against Notre Dame, Oregon State, and Arizona State will work against their favor. And then they have to beat Oregon in the conference title game. And I haven't even mentioned their head coach :lol:

I would say, given the depth of leniency he has received thus far; so long as he takes the trojans to the pac-12 title game with a +7 record (10-3 [they play 13 regular season games this year]), and usc at least makes it a close game if they lose (7 points or less) --- I would assume they'd keep him one more year (for having shown signs of improvement).
