Yeah!

Now who is going to gamble on A&M, and take them for their conference with this potential disaster :?:

Yes, but Texas A&M is in the SEC now....so if they go undefeated, it will be forgotten. (looking at Auburn) :|
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

Apparently they have him signing on tape...he is toast. Plus underage drinking, out of control....he will be downgraded significantly after he is booted from A&M team, by the NFL. 15 minutes of fame and he's history. Next.

I just don't know how stupid you have to be. From what I can gather, his family is pretty rich by themselves. As long as Manziel can put off gratification just a little bit, he'll get an NFL contract and make millions of dollars. Now he'll be out of football for an entire year when he joins the NFL draft and his stock is going to plummet.

Well, they have him on tape signing things, but not taking the money. --- If it was a cash exchange, then this will be harder to validate. ( no paper trail )

The last report I got, was a down grade from a 5 digit sum, to $7,500.

If he fesses up, then, so long as he pays back the cash, he may just get a suspension of 5-6 games (still very significant).

I understand A&M is preparing a legal defense --- so it looks as if nobody's talking --- should this be the case, and the NCAA finds against him ... then yeah, he's done.

hmm...

Apparently on the video, Manziel says to the broker; "If you tell anyone about this, I will never do business with you again."

This doesn't look good for him.

This is worse IMO than lots of other cases of gifts for autographs. This kid isn't hurting for money. His family isn't hurting for money. This is just a case of pure arrogance. I think he was reading to many of his press clippings.

Manziel is an affuent, white kid, from the higher end suburbs. Terrelle Pryor is black and poor. Same offense....Throw Terrelle under the bus...which of course would be the back seats of the bus and defend Manziel to the hilt. That's where we are.

I don't see too much of a double standard at play here. There were a lot of people saying that Pryor and the rest didn't do anything "wrong" and that the rule was stupid, but that Pryor and the rest were dumb enough to commit the violation. That seems to be the vibe coming from those criticizing Manziel. I don't think Manziel did anything wrong, but he broke whatever kind of agreement he had with the NCAA about money, and that was stupid considering the cost he is going to incur.
