That seems to be the vibe coming from those criticizing Manziel. I don't think Manziel did anything wrong, but he broke whatever kind of agreement he had with the NCAA about money, and that was stupid considering the cost he is going to incur.

That's right. Whether Pryor or Manziel have right on their side, they broke the current rule and they should be punished. Manziel should get at least 5 games and pay the money back. Then he can sue to get the rule changed. He has the money to do it.

People here think he should be suspended. Most I know thought the same abut T. Pryor. I don't know Anyone who would cut him slack because he is a rich white kid. As a matter of fact, I don't want anyone to break Archie's record.

So much about what color of skin Manziel has, and why this columnist (communist) sees his own culture shout.

I almost thought that article was written by michael moore, with all of its flagrancy.

I generally like Witlock. He usually is pretty straight forward. I don't agree there is a double standard here.

You don't think there is a double standard? Absolutely there is and it is not about the color of skin. Follow the money, its always about money.,

AJ Green was suspended 4 games for selling 1 signed jersey if I am not mistaken. So what will Manziel get....Probably nothing.

Cam Newton wasn't a rich kid and he got away with it. The difference between Pryor and Manziel is that Pryor and co. were cheating on their own and Newton and Manziel had an infrastructure set up. Pryor and company also sold out wat too cheap also. They didn't know what to ask for, I guess.

I think in the end it is a "zero sum gain" philosophy for the school....when it is more trouble than the rewards....schools throw you under the bus. I think Johnny may well be close to that point.

I agree. Right now it is all on Manziel. The school isn't implicated so they can afford to take the high road.

I don't see how they can play the kid. He is allegedly on video signing hundreds of autographs in a hotel room. The stories I have read say Manziel is on camera saying something like...you better not tell anyone about this. I am fairly certain he was not signing pictures, etc just to be a nice guy. You don't sit in a hotel room and sign that volume of merchandise without getting paid.

Not generally in a hotel room. Problem is, though, that the schools have the players do autogragh sessions all the time. Not taking up for Manziel, but it is hypocrisy.

They sit in the locker room and sign all kinds of things for charity...including auction items for school programs and the such. I know when Boise players go to the children's hospital for visits they get these items to take and give to the kids..I know other schools do the same...most all of them.......and that is very good and certainly not what is being talked about.....

FSU just had fan day...with players at the tables signing all kinds of things (caps, jerseys, footballs) for the fans who stand in line ...and some will wind up on Ebay.
