Thought on Week 8

Postby donovan » Sun Oct 20, 2013 11:13 am

This week shows why preseason polling ranks right up there with the Affordable Health Care Act.

1. Boise State: Who cares? (Southwick out after first play of the game. Hedrick in, behind at the half, gets it together and beats Nevada.)
2. Florida “Mr. Billybud” State: is the real deal, has beat the two ranked teams they play 104-7. The only question may be, “Will Mrs. Billybud ride her Harley all the way to Pasadena?”
3. Clemson: was a paper Tiger. Its only virtue now is, there are only two teams in the ACC, see #2.
4. WSU: Good for Mike Leach to play to the end of the game, WSU v. UO.
5. Oregon: Good reminder UO is still classless. Nick Aliotti’s profane rant to the media that Mike Leach should have not passed at the end of the game and scored two touchdowns. http://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/index.ssf/2013/10/ducks_defensive_coordinator_ni.html
6. UO has great players, none with a better name than , Storm Woods. Well, “OldDucker,” ain’t bad.
7. During the week: Some of the best games this week were not on Saturday.
8. I just don’t get Louisville.
9. Missouri is in the hunt getting help from everybody.
10. South Carolina: Spurrier needs to go back to ‘shiny pants.’
11. Georgia Tech: finally listened to the song, either that or Derrick was there coaching…I still am speechless. “Women make you do crazy things”
12. Texas A&M: One excellent player can only do so much with a mediocre team.
13. Targeting: Something needs to change. Both the Ohio State and Georgia ejections seemed like nonsense to me.
14. Auburn: Malzahn, the darling of the South may be the coach of the year.
15. State of Oklahoma: See number 1.
16. Washington: See number 1
17. Baylor: If they get by Oklahoma then they may have to be addressed, until then see number 1.
18. Arkansas: Dang, I’m thinking Johns L. Smith deserves an apology. Truthfully, can a school treat their coaches any worse than Arkansas?
19. Alabama: Lackluster and truthfully, see number 1, but the only question will be, who are they going to play in Pasadena?
20. Notre Dame and USC: Why did they play the second half?
21. Jameis Winston: He needs to practice the pose.
22. Mariota: Maybe he and Winston can share the costs on a Posing Coach.
23. Ohio State: They are going to win out, undefeated, now if anybody will just notice. Seems to me, they try so hard to lose.
24. Manion: Maybe 21 and 22 can split the cost three ways.
25. Oregon State: Prediction—will beat Stanford in Corvallis, next week.

I think Oregon State matches up pretty well with Stanford. I'm inclined to take them in that game, but I'll get back to you later this week

Code: Select all

It was a good game

2. Florida “Mr. Billybud” State: is the real deal, has beat the two ranked teams they play 104-7. The only question may be, “Will Mrs. Billybud ride her Harley all the way to Pasadena?” They are the real deal.
3. Clemson: was a paper Tiger. Its only virtue now is, there are only two teams in the ACC, see #2.Clemson always looks good until they play Florida State and then they are gone.
Well, “OldDucker,” ain’t bad.Old Ducker is a great name and even though I have not ever met him, I think it fits.
A spoiled rotton great player.
13. Targeting: Something needs to change. Both the Ohio State and Georgia ejections seemed like nonsense to me.
14. Auburn: Malzahn, the darling of the South may be the coach of the year.
15. State of Oklahoma: See number 1.The reign of Big game Bob is almost over
16. Washington: See number 1
17. Baylor: If they get by Oklahoma then they may have to be addressed, until then see number 1.
18. Arkansas: Dang, I’m thinking Johns L. Smith deserves an apology. Truthfully, can a school treat their coaches any worse than Arkansas?I can't believe the AD at Arkansas has the entire JLS year to think about it and hired Bert from sesame street. His puppet strings had alway been pulled by Barry Alvarez. Without BA, he is a puppet with no one working the string.
19. Alabama: Lackluster and truthfully, see number 1, but the only question will be, who are they going to play in Pasadena?Their defense seems to be getting better as we go. They were beatable early in the year. It is going to get tougher as the year goes on to beat them. I think Auburn/Alabama will be and interesting game this year.
20. Notre Dame and USC: Why did they play the second half? I think see #1 is a perfect statement for both teams this year.
21. Jameis Winston: He needs to practice the pose.Agree
22. Mariota: Maybe he and Winston can share the costs on a Posing Coach. Especially agree this year.
23. Ohio State: They are going to win out, undefeated, now if anybody will just notice. Seems to me, they try so hard to lose. The defense tries harder than anyone in the country to lose. Any team that plays bad D can losr any week
24. Manion: Maybe 21 and 22 can split the cost three ways.Just two for now.
25. Oregon State: Prediction—will beat Stanford in Corvallis, next week.
