Mordant Thoughts on Week Eleven

Postby donovan » Sun Nov 10, 2013 10:09 am

1. Who cares? Boise State has a bye.
2 . Baylor does not go away. Are they the elephant in the room?
3. Didn’t they have Duck for dinner in Christmas Story? Always a use for left overs.
4. Heisman, See number 1. However, Mariota.
5. Florida State needs work on special teams, 3 points. What is Idaho’s SOS?
6. Florida, Spence was right about the Gators. When does 0 come after 22?
7. Mr. Billybud writing email to FSU scheduler? “What were you smoking?”
8. Did you see Brandon Oliver for Buffalo on Tuesday against Ohio? 5’7”
9. California Bears have the worse special teams in the country, three touchdowns?
10. Eric sending email to Michigan, “I think you have the negative rushing yards down.”
11. Utah, I would think Stanford would hope they won at least one more conference game.
12. They don’t allow swearing in Eastern Michigan.
13. Miami, did they look at those uniforms before they bought them?
14. Maybe Cane can figure out the ACC Coastal Division.
15. Maybe Phil Knight can do for Alabama what he did for Oregon, turncoat.
16. Notre Dame, maybe Stanford, maybe BYU, not Pitt. Bad choice for loss.
17. Notice CBS did not show McCarron’s girlfriend one time last night, quick learners.
18. Spence, not sure what it takes to get noticed.
19. Orgeron should take a head coaching job elsewhere just before the bowl game.
20. Idaho scored 38 points in loss to Old Dominion. FSU looking for film, trembling

Not sure we need to be noticed this year. Still having defensive problems. Masking them with terrible teams.

I might be the only person outside of Norfolk, Virginia and Moscow, Idaho who wanted to watch this game. 8) I was looking for some kind of feed on the Internet, but I think you had to pay to use Idaho's service. This game had a lot of things: odd east-west matchup, transitioning FCS team, Taylor Heineke, and Idaho hosting that guy who is going blind who has tried to visit every FBS stadium. It looked like a fun game to watch for three quarters. I have my eye on Old Dominion as a team that may make some noise. Once the recruiting gets kicked up a notch to an FBS level, they should be a good C-USA program. It's too bad Heinecke only has one more year of eligibility since I would have liked to see him in the FBS for more than one year.

It's all my fault. I missed the Furd game while flying from Louisville to Houston with a stop in St. Louis. Had I been watching this game, favorite IPA in hand, I am certain we would have won. Truly.

Idaho was paid to come to Tallahassee...a fill in for game two of a home & home with west Virginia that WVU cancelled because of going to the Big 12.

FSU lost money on the deal...WVU paid the $500,000 cancellation fee and Idaho charged more than that to come....FSU called 51 FBS programs looking for a WVU replacement...

And it is my understanding that Idaho also demanded one way tickets.

It is Idaho's Bowl...

I remember the days when I was so excited when a building FSU travelled the country to get a shot at one of the big boys in football....

I do remember that, and applaud the Noles for that.

Oh, BTW, my oldest brother Lee, led the Seminoles in hitting his Senior year on the baseball team. He played there in 1950 & 1951. Lee Bailey. Unfortunately, he died with cancer at age 68 and I hardly got to spend much time with him, as he was 18 years older than me.
