Keg of Nails
This looks to be a good football game tonight. Seems to me these teams are very similar in make up and how they approach the game. Two coaches that have had success. This receiver for Cincinnati, McKay appears to be a hard guy to tackle catches the pass. i really like the rivalry that goes back a long way. So on a cold day. 18 degrees at six this morning...way too cold for Oregon, a fire, diet Coke and TV....I think my night is planned. (Mrs. Donovan tells me that TV's are now in color...I will wait to see if that catches on.)

I have Louisville.....let's see how it comes out.

Good game. Cincy had a decent year at 9-3, but I'm still trying to figure out how they lost to Illinois and USF earlier this year.

Was a good game to watch, at least I got that correct.

A great game...Teddy's "throw it up and hope" TD pass as he was falling was a game saver....

Re: Keg of Nails
It was fun . . .
I think Cincy blew it, by softening up their defense at the end, which gave Louisville enough life to march the field, for that last touchdown in regulation.
I also think the Bearcats got a bit greedy, going for the full first down, when it was intermediary plays that got them down the field so fast ... they may have been able to close it out, rather than taking it to overtime.
Good showing by the Cardinals in overtime ... they dominated the post regulation series.

Re: Keg of Nails
Well, I've been a bit busy, then under the weather so I haven't even visited the site much. Cincy game for the Keg of Nails was maybe the most exciting game in an otherwise lacklustre season of nobodies.
I've seen quite a few of those "hail mary's" plays; but, usually it was Brett Favre at USM scoring in the last seconds on UL. This one was fun to watch on replays. The Keg of Nails is actually empty and it is the second one. The first one was 'lost' according to UL. Probably residing in someone's fraternity house or basement rec. room.
We've played them almost every years since the mid-20's and the series will be over for a year or so; but, I hope UL puts them back on the schedule soon. Always an interesting game.

Re: Keg of Nails
I would like to see them continue this rivalry as well. If there is any kind of expansion talk, my guess is Cincy would have to be on the ACC's radar. Possibly the Big 12 as well.
