Alabama had TO's, got behind and abandoned their normal game...
Went to the passing game instead of having Yeldon push the ball down the field.
I do believe that if Bama had stuck to their game instead of abandoning it for most of a half...they might have caught Oklahoma.
With the Sooners pinning their ears back and blitzing every down without Bama running it past them, McCarron was in trouble.
The TO's led to 28 points...and it was the killer for Saban's boys.
The FSU board absolutely believes that FSU would have lit Bama up after watching their defensive back play.

I can wait until I awake in the morning to make fun of you. I sure did not see Bama losing to OU. OU's offense, looked totally different with all the up tempo stuff. This must be the way to attack Bama.GoBoilers wrote:I am guessing Razorhawk has already passed out err...... gone to bed. No mean comments about my mental acuity! Or typing for that matter!

Alabama's loss gives Florida State an opportunity for a pure and defiled national championship. Arguments other wise will be hallow.

I thought Florida State would light up Alabama before the loss. I really haven't seen a team play this year that I thought was Florida State's equal. I think a team with a top notch defense would have a chance, but they would need help. Florida State is the best team in the nation. I think that is the only obvious thing in CFB this year.
....and I don't care about schedule strength.

They certainly couldn't handle Oklahoma's DE's. There was no such thing as pass defense on that team. Bama was a stop the run and make them beat you in the air type team and Oklahoma did just that. I also have no clue how to know what a good team looks like. I think my picks this year have proved it.
I saw a couple plays with a bit of a unique look. It was almost like they were spying with a DL who would hang out about a yard ahead of the line of scrimmage. If the blitz didn't quite hit home, McCarron would step up in the pocket, and then this guy would go after McCarron and freak McCarron out. McCarron would then step back into the collapsing pocket. A pretty good overall strategy for the defense.
On that horrible interception thrown by AJ, he didn't read the corner blitz prior to the snap, saw that the corner blitzed late, and just chucked the ball up in the area without reading the defense. He took a mental shortcut and thought that just because the guy was blitzing that his receiver would have the area to himself.

This is a similar strategy to the one Miami used against Va Tech, when they had baby Vick as their QB.
Miami played with 5 Defensive linemen; one of which was set in a linebackers position, whose sole job for the game, was to contain Marcus Vick.
3 Fumbles, 2 of them turned into touchdowns [one of which happened in the end zone].
Also, similarly to last night; once Miami took the lead, in the first half, they never trailed. When Oklahoma lost the lead, they only fell behind by a field goal, but were able to tie things up, be for pushing ahead by 14. Once they got that far ahead, they never lost the lead. Even when Alabama gained the momentum, the Sooners did just enough to stay in front the rest of the game.
Last night, though; I think Oklahoma played 4 linemen, one who pushed late, and was assigned runstop, with a secondary QB rush assignment, if McCarron kept the ball.
It worked. So today, Stoops lookslike a genius.
