Re: Fantasy Conference: Selection Field

Postby Cane from the Bend » Sun Aug 24, 2014 4:11 am

Warrriorsfan posted his Ninth Round choice at 2:32 est time, putting me on the clock at 3 am, giving me until 3 am Monday [24 hours] to make my Round 9 & 10 selections.

I do not know who ... we are certainly down to some very slim picks here.

I think we'll be 8-4, but it'll be a disappointing 8-4. If we get lucky and they surpass my expectations, I could see them winning 9. But they will definitely lose to Ohio State and Michigan State.

Ohio State is going to take there lumps this year. The QB has a weak arm and a new oline. I don't know if we are an overwhelming favorite over anyone and this could be the year an Ohio team beats Ohio State for the first time since Oberlin did in in 1921. I like Cincinnati's odds this year. There will be a 2 week party in the queen city if it happens.

No chance. The last decade has been unending torture. Michigan has about a 1% chance of beating Ohio State in Columbus this year.

Okay, I think I've narrowed things down far enough.

My final two selections are:
Colorado State
Texas San Antonio (Go Roadrunners!)

Warrriorsfan808 it's your ball to run with.

I'm posting this at 8:36 pm est time, starting your clock at 9:oo pm est > 4:oo pm in Hawai'i.
You will have until 10 am est > 5:oo am Hawai'i time to make your final selection.

I would put the odds somewhere in the 50% range. Time will tell, but from things I have been hearing, we will struggle this year.

If you mean 50% do to home field advantage, then I agree.

Otherwise: Michigan 58% --- Ohio State 42%

I'll have what you guys are having

I've dealt with this losing streak long enough to know that Michigan in big games = bad news. We're just never quite there when it counts. Ohio State could play their kicker at QB and they would find a way to beat Michigan.

I would bet $1000 that Michigan loses to Ohio State. There is no doubt in my mind. Maybe you guys think I'm being overly pessimistic, but there is some rule that whatever team Eric cheers for, they will lose the big game

Maybe. I don't bet on or against Ohio State. I think Ohio State's defense will be good enough to keep them in the game. If we had Miller I think our chances of winning go to 80-85% because of the new offensive line. Without him we still have lots of weapons, but we will be a one dimensional team. That is going to be a problem against any team that can play defense and Michigan's strength is the defense.

All I know is that I'm resigned to Michigan losing to Ohio State. Think about it, we have one win since 2004 and even then it came against the worst Ohio State team during that span, with a young roster, and with a coach in limbo and it took Michigan, entering the game at 9-2, everything they had to beat them at home by 6. Against the worst Ohio State team in 20 years. Wow, way to go, Michigan!

With that, we are down to the last 4 Selections.

Donovan, you're on . . .

Warrriorsfan808 made his last pick at 2:17 am est, and so, your clock will officially start at 3 am eastern > 12:oo midnight Pacific time.

You will have until 4 pm est > 1 pm your time, to choose your final team.

Eric, time for your final pick ---

Donovan made his selection at 9:32 am, which will start your clock at 10:oo am (in about 1 minute) > giving you until 11 pm to Round out your conference.
