The team that looked inept against Virginia Tech or the team that beat up on Kent State? The answer is both. Kent State is really bad. What happened with Virginia Tech wasn't a fluke or an accident. If they played again this week the same thing would happen. Ohio State's offensive line is very inexperienced. They have a chance to be better at the end of the season. but they have a long way to go. The young qb has really played pretty well in both games. Defensively Ohio State is Ok. Not world beaters, but ok. They played pretty well in the Virginia Tech game until the end when they were on the field so long.
Don't be fooled into thinking Ohio State is a different team than you saw play against Virginia Tech. They may be decent at the end of the year if they keep getting better. They may be a top 20 team by then. Currently they are not. Not close.

Re: Which is the real Ohio State
I agree that that game is more Kent State getting completely overwhelmed than anything the Buckeyes did. Kent State looks awful this year across the board, probably one of the bottom 10 teams in the country. Urban Meyer probably kept pouring it on for cathartic reasons more than anything, as an exorcism of last week.
Ohio State has a really interesting game with Cincinnati coming up. Gunner Kiel looked the part in the opener this season. Ohio State's strength is supposed to be their defensive line, so that will be a test. Cincinnati isn't anything special on the defensive side of the ball, but it is their chance to make a statement for the "Group of Five" slot.

I think Cincy is a better matchup for Ohio State, but it will still be a struggle. It is a danger game for the Bucks.
