Bama/Arkansas

Postby Eric » Sat Oct 11, 2014 6:26 pm

Man, Doss, I'm beginning to feel how you feel every Saturday when Arkansas games start going sour. They could have a 10-0 lead on Alabama right now, but a bad snap on a FG and a fumble/touchback from the one-yard line later, and it's 0-0.

Halftime is 7-6 Bama.

Ark dominating in every stat but the score.

Bama has 100 yards to Ark 200 at half. Bama only rushed for 11 yards in first half. Ark doubled their Time of possession (20:00 to 10:00). Bama has turned the ball over 2 times. Ark did fumble going into end zone for a TD, missed an extra point, and a terrible fake field goal was stopped (just go for it with offense or try the kick). Still in the game. Definitely better than last two years beat down.

I am at game. It rained all first half (light rain). Rain has stopped. Loud in the stadium tonight.

Go Hogs!!!!!!

Hogs defense played an amazing game. Held Bama to 14 points and less than 70 rushing yards. Hogs lose by 1. Hogs missed an extra point, fumble on 1 inch line (so close to a td), drop two int, botched fg attempt.....so frustrating. This team should be 5-1...not 3-3. They outplayed A&M and Bama but can't finish the deal yet. So close. This hurts more than the 52-0 drubbings the past two years.

Whale of a game. Alabama got hurt by this game. Arkansas played excellent. Tough breaks.

The Hogs scrapped hard and won in everything but the Scoreboard and W/L column. These losses are the toughest when the clock expires...but by Monday they are much better than a drubbing.

One of those games where both teams congratulate themselves....Arkansas for playing a a game that could/should have been won...Bama for hanging in through adversity and walking away with a "W".

Those type games can leave a fan emotionally limp afterward.

And....if you listen to ESPN, their mantra is that there are no losers in a SEC conference game.

Yeah, if the Egg Bowl showcases 2 undefeated teams, they will both be ranked #1 going in. The loser will be ranked #2 when the game ends.
