What was with the pregame brawl ..?

This game is getting out of hand; 1 minute 42 seconds left in the 1rst half, scoring is presently
Western Kentucky 49 - Marshall 42

Watching this game, I wonder if the Hilltoppers didn't get into the Herd's head prior to the start ... they were all riled up at the kickoff, and Marshall's d gave up so many points early, as if Western Kentucky had just thrown them out of sync.

Sometimes playing angry can blind your play time vision.

I don't like the fact the selection committee is taken off the hook. Even though they had Boise State above Marshall, I think it should have been Marshall in the hunt. You win all the games on a schedule that is known before the start. What more is there to ask.

No sense of crying over spilled milk ... that hook will bore its way into the committee again.

Marshall didn't finish the job. So taking them into account is simply kicking the horse past rigor mortis.

It will go to 8 teams within 2 years.

Sooner or later the public will realize that their happiness is a moving target, and they'll just stop watching.
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

I watched almost the entire game yesterday, it was a lot of fun. Akron, Middle Tennessee, Rice, and WKU were going to be the four toughest games that Marshall had to win to go undefeated. They almost got there, but Doughty and Allen plus their receivers and tight ends pose a challenge to defenses that don't perform. I actually don't think Marshall's defense is that terrible, they have been in a lot of games earlier this year where it looked like it could have gotten into a shootout, but overall they have been alright. I think they'll rebound in the championship game and then their bowl game, but this and Colorado State's loss to Air Force puts the Utah State and Boise winner into the driver's seat for the "Group of Five" slot.
