I will reflexively cheer against Ohio State sometimes as a tribute to my dad...who, as a Michigan alum, was seriously deranged when the topic of the Buckeyes came up. When I went up to Columbus when FSU played Ohio State in the Shoe, he could not understand the two sets of fans mingling and joking in the bars and having a good time together. It just seemed so perverted to him.
I only started pulling for FSU to win games when two things happened.
1.) We joined the same conference
2.) No more Bowden
It was fun beating the guy,but now he's gone.
As for the
gators ... I will only root for them to get a new athletic department, who will put us back into the schedule rotation.
They weaseled out of our rivalry, and did so as if galant.
I'm glad we could send them off last year with a final tail whoopin' ... and it gave me great joy, watching Georgia Southern beat
florida 26 to 20 last year ... it took excuses to salvage Muschamps job for one more season ... they couldn't spin it any longer after this year's performance.
I'm sad to see him go ...
florida was falling into obscurity with him as the head man ... I wish Jim McElwain all the failure he can imagine, throughout his stay at
UF ... after he leaves, I hope he excels --- but until then, disaster.
