Ineligible Man Downfield?

Apparently some spread offense coaches are upset about a proposed rule change that shifts the penalty on screen plays from 3 yards ahead to 1 yard ahead instead. Of course Gus Malzahn is leading the charge. As much as I like his offense, faking out the defense on screens, play action, and option is his M.O. A defense can't read run or pass depending on what the lineman do, which runs against how football normally should be played. The other thing I've noticed is that the refs don't even bother to enforce the current rule, so maybe they have a point. I just think it's funny that the first to complain about the proposal are the worst violators

That sounds kinda like politicians.

I'm not personally a fan of Gus, but I guess that's just because of him being at Auburn.
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.
