Maybe the MWC is telling the SEC --- see, we can do it too.

It will be a competitive game, so if you want to see that.....Well, then it has that going for it. :D

Well then, let's not forget about the:

I didn't mean to cherry pick just games at random. I mean I don't remember this happening in the past to this degree. Appalachian State goes to Michigan and beats the winningest program in division 1. But from the time I started watching college football in 1999, I would never guess JMU or Furman beating VT. And the others I mentioned.

I saw that the MEAC basically just dropped out of the FCS playoffs. They used to have an auto-berth there. The SWAC never joined, but that has to look like the MEAC waving the white flag there. The one playoff game that the conference won since 2000 was Tennessee State over non-scholarship Butler. They just don't have the facilities to recruit well, and it has shown against the upper crust of the FCS.

Furman beating Virginia Tech, Appalachian State defeating Michigan, Portland State beat Washington State, Georgia Southern over Florida, etc. Now, I know that many of these are FCS programs, and some just joined FBS. But these teams went on the road and beat these "better" teams.

Parity...

Parity my buttocks....you can cherry pick examples. talk about Moral Victories..but the old BCS teams won over 85% of their games with non BCS teams. And current non P5 teams lose about 84% of their games with P5 teams.

The AAC won 16.6 % of their 2014 and 2015 games against P5 opponents

CUSA went 3-45..less then 1 per cent.

MAC went 16%

MWC went 16%

Lots of former middies in major conferences now.

Sure, put the in a conference to give the fodder perceived legitimacy.

I don't know about "plenty"....

But, yeah, over a long period of time there has been some movement to the major conferences.....The ACC now is half old Big East, who had raided CUSA.

Us eastern independents (VT, FSU, Penn State, Miami, etc) had to go conference...alas.

As Col. Jessup of the Power 5 would say....

Truth! You couldn't handle the truth.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the finances that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way, I don't give a darn what you think you are entitled to.

This article really summarizes what we have seen from several schools. The question I have, is how does acceptance of a school in this shape benefit a conference prior to their cleaning up their act, which may be several years. On the West Coast we have seen it happen, Washington hired Willingham...he succeeded and was destroyed as a coach. USC is typical kneejerk and they have not even started with their clean up act. BYU, who had devastating player misbehavior ten years ago is still using the belt and suspenders protocol of hiring to try a avoid a repeat, took Boise three years to get players pictures out of the police gazette. Several school, I think, are still in denial. Sports is a reflection of our society. Firing coaches is not the answer. Firing College Presidents may be. When the Board of Trustee's take over and only until then, will this be resolved.

One of the basis for cheap hardboiled detective and noir novels...(my favorite reading, by the way) is someone has to live outside of the constitution to protect the constitution. In the end, Col Jessup, as wrong as he was, was right. Where is Remo Williams or Bulldog Drummond when you need them.

Interesting juxtaposition Donovan....You quoting Ayn Rand while I quote Col. Jessup...

West Coast vs South embodied in those choices.
