The ACC is, maybe, at its best athletically of late.
ACC teams have won two of the last four football national championships
...two of the last three basketball championships
...and the baseball championship the year before last.
Last season, the arguable best teams of the Big Ten (Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State) all lost to an ACC squad...
and...Alabama, Ole Miss, Auburn, Arkansas, Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky and Vanderbilt all lost to an ACC team...
Alas...next season looks bleaker...FSU opens with Alabama (Bama favored) and GT plays Tennessee (the Vols should roll), Florida should be better and the odds that GT beats Georgia are slim.

FSU should be primed for a run next year. The game with Alabama shouldn't hurt either team if they lose. The winner can probably pencil into the playoff.

Re: Good athletic years for ACC
I streamed the Lady Noles softball team in an epic game with Florida....
The Gators ranked #1, the Noles ranked #2.....
The Gators ace was 21-0 with an unbelievable .16 ERA (3 earned runs in her 21 games)....and FSU's ace was drafted as the first over all pick in the NPF draft.
A walk off 2 run homer in the 11th decided the game for the Nole gals....gettting past the Gators was, in Trump speak, huge.
