Jason G is a member of this board, and an Akron Zips fan.
Right now, Akron is hosting 8-2 conference opponent, Ohio --- Akron is 5-5 on the year, so far. But is giving it to Ohio, leading the Bobcats 30-27 at the moment.
A win will make the Zips Bowl Eligible ...

Nice win for Akron tonight.
Turns out, this game wasn't just for a possible Bowl appearance. Beating Ohio gives Akron the edge in conference, as they are now 1 up with the same conference record, and being in the same division.
If Ohio loses their last game, or, if Akron wins their next game, the Zips will be playing in the MAC Championship Game.
Also, the Zips snap a 9 year losing streak to the Bobcats tonight.

A win for the Bowdens.....Jeff and Terry and the other FSU related staff up there at Akron.
I never warmed up to Chuck Amato while he was at FSU...but always liked Todd Stroud...he was a tough Nose Tackle at FSU

Couple important MAC games this week that turned into some real entertaining games. Akron beating Ohio, and now NIU edges past Western Michigan. Wind and weather played some havoc, to be expected in late season games in the Midwest. Toledo finally pulled away from Bowling Green so they still have the edge. Couple good matchups next week too, WMU/Toledo NIU/CMU. NIU will be on the road but I'm hoping the action in Dekalb includes the local team playing for a high school state title.
