If they give Harbaugh a show cause penalty why not Warde Manuel? If Harbaugh was doing all that Manuel knew. Ohio State’s compliance department uncovered the emails Tressel deleted so Gene Smith was off the hook there, but Manuel did everything to help give cover to Harbaugh. Never made him ask questions

That’s the AD at Michigan, right???? If he knew, and did nothing about it, I agree. I’d call that aiding and abetting……., and as for the clapping goes, I would hope an game official would slap a unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on the coach if he couldn’t tell which player was doing it, and if it happened again I’d toss his butt outta the game. But hell, this day and game officials are so far away from the LOS they couldn’t hear a quittin’ time whistle.

I don’t know if it happened or not, just a statement the kid was quoted as saying, but I wouldn’t give Harbaugh or his staff the benefit of any doubt about it if it did indeed happen.

If the game doesn’t have integrity, hell, it’s just Big Time Wrestling.

Manuel is the AD and he as guilty as anyone. Actually the clapping and stuff happens all the time in CFB. As for the honorary captain and the return to for Harbaugh, that is on hold for now. Seems his parents will be honored instead.

Well, that’s the problem a guy creates for himself when he gets caught up in cheating while recruiting and a in sign stealing effort……. his reputation takes a hit and anything else that happens puts him under suspicion. Possibly and probably nothing to the clapping claim, since the kids had snapping issues before.

………I’m sure Harbaugh’s parents are proud. :?

I doubt that he even cares. I know the people up in Ann Arbor do not care. He got away with it. Nothing is going to happen to him. He wasn't going back to college anyway. Michigan didn't go try to hire their next coach because they knew there was a price to pay. They will let Moore take the fall, then they will find their new guy and move on. National Championship in hand.

The defense is not allowed to do anything that would simulate the snap. The defensive players can't yell “hut” or “hike,” and they can't clap since more offenses are using that for teammates to hear above crowd noise.

LSU and Missouri were both penalized in 2023 for clapping on defense.

I didn't know it was against the rules. It should be. I still know it happens. Michigan State used to do it all the time.

I've seen the whistle blown for this, but didn't know exactly what the players were doing.

The refs simply tagged the team for Defense Simulating the Snap.

I saw it a few times last season, called. One game comes to mind feels like it was North Carolina vs Ga Tech, though I cannot recall which team was penalized.

It happened a couple of times while watching Big XII games, also.

Being a cheat and a liar are required and must have attributes and skills of a politician…… I was referencing what Joe Montana had to say about Bill Belichick and Tom Brady when they got caught during the ‘Deflate Gate’ incident……..
