After all this, a new season is about to begin….

”We’re already in a time where the on-field aspect of College Football is almost a distraction. It’s an era filled with handwringing about player empowerment, NCAA deregulation, the transfer portal and realignment all while the sport generally moves toward a professional model.” ~ Dennis Dodd

Okay then ...

Some straight up football talk.

As much as I enjoy watching the leprechauns fail; I would, selfishly, almost like to see them make the College Football Playoff.

 Almost

Since they are not in a conference, they can finish no better than the 5th cede.

That being the case, any rank 5-8 would see Notre Dame hosting a playoff game, right here in South Bend.

So, yes, the possibility of being front line to a playoff without having to travel more than 10 minutes from my doorstep is pretty attractive.

However!!

And the reason why "Almost" takes precedence ...

It'll be in either December or January.

Good-lordy I'll need to take a battery operated electric blanket and heated socks to that outing.

If they're paired against Miami, though :?:

Watching Miami in your town would be a pretty good experience I would think.
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

- John Madden
