FYI…… A Review of the Potential Direction of College Athletics

Postby Mountainman » Thu Jan 09, 2025 1:39 pm

…….. makes me wonder when or if the Colleges and Universities are going to step up and say, ‘Not so fast…. these teams are a part of our schools, these players are students at our schools, these coaches and staffs are employees of our schools, these athletic facilities belong to our schools and who says that you Conference Commissioners get to make these decisions about the value and direction of College Athletics?????’ 8)

”We’re already in a time where the on-field aspect of College Football is almost a distraction. It’s an era filled with handwringing about player empowerment, NCAA deregulation, the transfer portal and realignment all while the sport generally moves toward a professional model.” ~ Dennis Dodd

Due to Georgia's performance, some of it out of their control (some of it was in their control thanks to Mike Bobo) and what I believe will be Texas's defeat against OSU, the point about the SEC not having the hand they think they do is valid.

I think we are looking at 2 Big 10 teams in the championship game.
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.
