Then explain how you fire people associated with this ‘sign stealing’???? Why do forbid your head coach from attending games?????? How can you say ‘somebody said ‘you won it fair and square’ when you fired people for cheating????? Why are you in a committee meeting claiming not that punishment isn’t warranted, but rather that the punishment is ‘too harsh’?????

All you’re doing is making a mockery of your team, your school, your conference, the College Football Playoff, and College Football in general.

I guess they are claiming they only cheated in the games leading up to the championship, but not the championship it self.

Well, you’ve got a point, since that’s when they let Harbaugh out of the hotel room.

……… what really gets me is that this buttwipe from Michigan is trying to sell the notion that Michigan is the victim here…… and that the Evil Empire is punishing them too much. What I’d ask this guy is, ‘How do you reconcile your cheating with your opponents, what are you going to do about that ‘W’ you got and that ‘L’ they got??????

Return the Trophy,

…….,. Appears the NCAA has grown a pair and continues to sniff around like a Hillbilly Hound Dog searching for the scent. Glad to see they’re showing signs of having a backbone.

Maybe the College Football Playoff Committee will do the same…… and at least put an asterisk on that trophy

Appears there are some leaks about what the NCAA has decided…….. but I’ll wait until the NCAA releases their own report………

Release by NCAA……..

I didn’t see anything about vacating WINS……… which begs the question, ‘Why would Michigan keep the ‘W’ and their opponents keep the ‘L’ now that it’s been confirmed Michigan cheated and broke the rules governing the game?’

What do the victims get outta’ this????? They’re the ones who were cheated……

Well……. I just ran across this article, and I suppose it answered my question, and it’s not what I wanted to hear.

I wonder if the people doing this realize that they just endorsed that College Football is
FOR SALE……, along with the integrity of the game. Are they saying CORRUPTION is ok, as long as you pay for it?????

They basically lost a few recruiting visits and pay a big fine. Big deal. Ohio State got a whole season vacated and lost an active coach for players selling their stuff for tattoos and the coach lied about knowing about it after the fact. Michigan was found guilty of illegal scouting. And not only did the lie about it, they actively blocked the the NCAA’s investigation and did not cooperate at all. For this they got a big fine, cut a few recruit visits, and their coach has to coach the game from the locker room like Harbaugh did during his suspension.

And the have the nerve to appeal it

The message the NCAA sent to their member institutions reads…… ‘It’s O.K. to cheat, just send us a check.’

…….. and where’s the College Football Playoff Committee?????? Are they going to stand up and say ‘We want out Nattie Title Trophy back’ or are they goin’ say “We got our money, just let it slide?????

…….. and where’s the Big Ten Conference??????? “Uh, leave your number and we’ll get back with you.”

…….. and what’s the University Of Michigan going to do about it?????? Deny, Defend and Justify.

The college football playoff committee really doesn’t have a dog in the fight. Their job is to decide the final 12 and they are done.

Their job NCAA rules committee has the job to police the schools. They didn’t do their job. My first question would be “if there was no advantage to this advance scouting why did you do it? To me that is it in a nutshell.

I’m not about punishing or humiliating the players, that’s already been done to the Michigan players by their Coaches and the Athletic Department………. but what about the players on the teams they beat????? What do they get???

And now we have the administration at Michigan telling the NCAA they’re going to appeal the sanctions and fines…….. but no mention of returning the trophy, forfeiting games or even an apology to College Football in general.

The NCAA is all about throwing the book at kids, but when it comes to programs, since SMU —— crickets

That’s been their history……..

https://www.cbssports.com/college-footb ... er-exists/

What happened at Ohio State had no impact on the field of play…….. that’s the difference in the comparison of these two cases. Coaches at Michigan we’re reportedly scrambling like Hell to delete info from their computers and admitted to wrongdoing that would indeed ‘impact the game’. This comparison is of the classic ‘Apples to Oranges’ variety.

Sooooooo…….. I’m curious what Meyer’s point is going to be. I suspect it’s about promoting and viewership on his podcast, else, why would just not share his thoughts in the article instead of just a tease??????
