So then ...

If College Football is the Jelly, does that make the Conferences the Ball, and the TV Networks the Torch :?:

Yep, College Athletics needs a governing body………. they’ve shown that cannot and will not govern themselves. Just look around, there are maybe a Baker’s Dozen programs that have the where with all to win a National Title out of 136 or so teams. The rest of this is just a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion exercise to create TV Programming for money, in order to keep everybody happy with their slice of the pie.

It is what it has become……… :?

Oh dear……… new rule. Mountainman will not post ‘Debbie Downer’ remarks after 11:00 PM while sipping bourbon. It’s just that bourbon, analytics and data have a way filtering out the the Male Cow Pies being sold as ‘The Best Thing Since Apple Butter’.

What do you call NCAA officials sitting on the sea floor?
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

After this past weekend, I'm sure Boston College would agree with that sentiment.

Good heavens, I cannot recall the last time I saw so many one sided penalties. There was even a play where two penalties could have been called, one on each team; and the more egregious of the two which was brazenly blatant wasn't flagged.

BC got hit with a slight tug of a receiver's jersey, that was let go of right away. Understandable, you can throw the flag, but it did not impede or redirect the WR in any way.

Same play, an Offensive Lineman blocking a D-Lineman gets his hand up under the facemask. The O-Lineman then clutches the mask, twists and pulls the D-Lineman to the ground popping his helmet off.

Not only did the refs give MSU the 15 yards for defensive holding. The Offensive Facemask wasn't called, and the D-Lineman had to go out of the game for a play because his helmet came off without a penalty.

Michigan St was struggling to move the ball, and that little gift put them deep in the red zone.

Then, so many calls that went against BC, where Sparty did the same thing without even a flag with discussion by the "officials."

I do not generally make it a habit to watch MSU home games. But now I'm curious. I may checkout a few more to see if the laundry continues to fall in East Lansing's favor going forward.

Also, much credit to the Eagle's players. They handled the situation with class. I don't think I saw them get up and question the refs once.

Also, the Michigan State players on multiple occasions, attempted jawing with the BC players. Many times trying to provoke them. The BC guys ignored them.

This was a game where I didn't really have any vested bias. However, by the time regulation ended, I found myself uncharacteristically rooting for the Eagles to win.
