Who is on top of the Big 10?
The preceding statements are solely the opinion of GoBoilers and are, therefore, probably not based whatsoever on fact, research or more time in thought than what was required to physically type them. They're probably correct anyway, so you shouldn't argue too much, because otherwise he'll just blather on forever. On the internet Al Gore invented.

Re: Who is on top of the Big 10?
After the win at Wisconsin, it does appear that Purdue may be the best that the Big 10 has to offer. A truly down year and probably on 5 teams make the big dance and quite possible none to the final 8 of the Dance.GoBoilers wrote:And, for how long?

Agreed! 5 teams get in and PU is now in the drivers seat with IU losing!

Re: Who is on top of the Big 10?
I'm not sure it is really a down year for the Big Ten. The top teams are pretty good and Ohio State is actually not bad considering what they lost. The bottom of the conference is not that good, and it hurt that Penn State lost their best player to injury.
Michigan State still plays Indiana and Wisconsin, so I have not given up hope that the Spartans will win the regular season title. They need some help because Purdue needs to lose at least two more games. Purdue still has to play at Indiana and at Ohio State. I still think Michigan State is the best team in the conference and will win the conference tournament despite the final results of the regular season.

I don't see any team advancing past the "Elite 8" at best from this conference. IU has yet to beat a ranked team. Wisconsin gets in done on sheer discipline. Michigan St. probably has the best team on paper. Purdue is getting in done on guts. The Big Ten will get one other team in. Total of 5.
At the same time, I don't see any dominating team. it's wide open from all conferences for the NCAA.

They'll make it because they'll win 1 or 2 in the BT tourney adding to their win total.

I don't think Ohio State is going anywhere. They can't rebound and their defense sucks.

Still on top. albeit a tie. Gonna be VERY interesting with Mich St. playing Wisc & IU while PU finishes with 2 road games. Can anyone see 15-3 and a 3 way tie?

Big 10 basketball is sure ugly to watch.
I am an Iowa fan and cannot even stand to watch the current Hawkeye team play. Everyone is talking about how great a coach that Lickliter is, but even when he gets his own players, unless they are winning or contending to win the Big 10, the style of play is enough to put you to sleep. I don't see him lasting at Iowa for more than 4 or 5 years, unless they are at the top of the conference every year.

Badgers will win. Might as well cancel the game! Hows that for prognostication!

Sounds like, with Purdue out, you really don't care. Wisconsin came from 10 points down in the second half to squeak out a win. I don't see a Big 10 team getting past the sweet 16.
