Florida may have the record for bad characters!

Postby GoBoilers » Fri Sep 17, 2010 9:18 pm

No one is immune but, someone opined that they may have about 1 out of every 6 with an arrest/conviction rate for players the past several years. Pretty sad. I remember Miami had I believe 6 convictetd felons playing about 20 years ago. I know my school Purdue isn't immune either! This is what happens when win at all costs and recruit characters and not character!

Better not say anything critical about the program to Urban Meyer, or he might just take a swing at you. :D It looks like the Fulmer Cup is between Florida and Georgia currently.

Fulmer Cup = Trophy for the SEC team with the most arrests and convictions. Named for Phillip Fulmer while at Tennessee. Team suspensions alone, count for very little. To get the top points arrests and convictions are the key.

Haaaaa!

That is the key to any Award of Value, you have to have exacting criteria, like, "arrests and convictions." What is the weighting for Felonies -v- Misdemeanors?

Well, usually when I see Orange....a 12 gauge and a badge isn't that far away! So we may have been seeing gravitation to that program in the past...good ole Rocky Top! It even attracted a different "Penal" type as coach in recent history.

I never thought UT had a "dirty" program.

Miami, maybe. UT? Naw.

Nothing about dirty. Just when Fulmer was under control there was very much a lack of control. Quite a few arrests etc.

I don't think Volleyball gets awarded any Fulmer Cup points though.

I thought it was an SEC only contest, but according to wikipedia that is not true.
