Re: 2500 Days
Ohio State fans and Michigan fans will move on from this rivalry in the future, because it doesn't mean anything anymore. Not after this year. If it isn't for the championship more often then not, why is it an important game? You are right, I don't understand that thinking. Ohio State has a "rivalry" with Illinois - they have a trophy and everything - no one in Columbus cares.

George W. Bush was President, and still fairly popular.
Nobody had heard of Sarah Palin or Barack Obama, and were perfectly content with that fact.
Lady Gaga was just some girl named Stefani, who was almost normal at the time.
Frasier was doing well early in its final season.
Some team out of Boise was a surprisingly strong 8-1 heading into November. 10-1 as of Nov. 22.
Would that 1 loss on Boise's schedule that year be to Arkansas?
And that is a long time. When Ark beat Georgia Sat. it was the first time in 17 years that it had happened.
Michigan is improved but I will pick Ohio State to win this game.
Yep, Eric is right. Oregon St...
As for the first time in 17 years...
Bill Clinton was President and growing fairly unpopular. (Era of Hillarycare)
Nobody had heard of Newt Gingrich or Mike Huckabee. Modern day Congressman Heath Shuler... was leading Tennessee to a respectable season.
Lady Gaga was some kid in a NJ elementary school. Some of the other kids probably thought she was weird though.
Fraiser was doing well early in its first season.
Boise State's performance was inconsistent... in the Big Sky Conference
Notre Dame football was still considered good by more than just the pundits trying to justify the NBC contract.

Spence wrote:The thing that made the rivalry great is one team almost always got to ruin the other's season. It was most always for the championship. Delany has now made it in Oklahoma-Nebraska. That progressed so wl Nebraska ended up leaving the conference altogether. When Oklahoma and Nebraska did play, it wasn't that big a deal and no matter how people tried to hype the game, they couldn't make it matter. That is what Delany and Brandon did to this rivalry. It is irrelevant.
It won't be the end of the rivalry and it wasn't always for the BT championship. I didn't like it when Purdue didn't have home and home in basketball for a fair rivalry. While the rivalry "cooled a little" it was more because Knight and Keady no longer coach (side bar-Keady has a winning record against Knight 22-21 I think). Bo and Woody really got the football rivalry going big time and while I sympathize with your position it won't destroy the rivalry. It was more fun when you are alum and the BT title was involved or one would be denied but, how many times in 100 years did that apply? 40 maybe?

Re: 2500 Days
It had title implications something like 70 times. It started with Michigan dominating and the from 49 on, it has had title implications more times than not.
It won't kill the rivalry it just renders it irrelevant.

I've corrected your post Sir.

They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.
The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.
See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

You're making me want to relive the good old days.

Oh yeah. The good old days.
Ronald Reagan was still alive
Now I'm convinced 2010 stinks.

I cant take credit for none of that, I copy and pasted. But yeah, somethings in the past were better. Just not a Michigan win.

Yeah, its almost like how the Yankees only tend to win the World Series when there is a Democrat in the White House. Last time they won with a Republican, it was Eisenhower in there. I am a Yankee fan, but even last year I was wondering if it was really worth it.

You want to know how long ago 2003 is? Syracuse football went 6-6 that season... and people here were pissed. Paul Pasqualoni was fired that year.
Of course, our basketball team were defending champs.
