Yeah and those Bama backs are punishing. They are going to test the depth of everyone they play.

It helps when you have two NFL first round draft picks in the same backfield. Their combo really reminded me of Felix Jones and Darren McFadden from 2006. Teams are going to wear out in the 4th quarter and you really saw that with Ingram slicing up the defense late in the game. I think Trent Richardson could be an NFL starter in the future, and he's the backup

They just punish people. To beat Bama a team is going to have to get them out of that rhythm. A team will have to score a could quick TD's and force Saban to go to the air to catch up. Otherwise they are just going to wear people out.

Exactly. When the Arkansas DB dropped the pick six on the first Alabama offensive drive, that is where they lost the game. Could have gone up 14-0 and changed Alabama's game plan.

That pick 6 would have helped but the game was lost on Ark's last 3 possessions of the game. A TD on just one of the last three possessions and Ark wins (punt and two int's).

Comparing the Bama backs to McFadden and Jones, I think Humpfrey appears to have more power and strength than either of the former Hogs. He just cannot be tackled with just one player.

that was a really fun game...I'm still in disbelief Arkansas lost. Any chance they can run the table and make the title game? Is Bama in their division, so they'd need Bama to lose twice?

I think if they do run the table, they'll get a 2nd bid to a BCS game.

Bama is in the same division. A 1 loss Bama could make the BCS title game, provided their one loss is not in the SEC title game. A 1 loss Arkansas team, would have no chance to get in the championship game.

BTW, I think Arkansas will lose at least 2 or 3 more games this year. They are not deep enough and wear down in the second half.

Well, the 2 teams that have the best chance against them are Auburn and SC, and I think they will have the same depth issue.

I meant, 1 - Loss and play in one of the regular BCS bowls, not the National Title game.

There is a whole lot of football left to be played, but this looks like a great Cotton Bowl matchup...Texas vs Arkansas! Arkansas would (unfortunately for me) win right now, but I'm hoping Texas gets better before then.

I am watching the game (recorded)...this is a great game in the 4th qtr. Man, some tough runners in this game.

Hogs lost this game in the first half. Hogs had the ball on the 5 yard line and Mallett throws a stupid INT, Hogs had the ball on the 10 yard line and Mallett throws an uncatchable ball to Joe Adams on the 2 yard line (Hogs settle for a field goal), and we have all ready mentioned the dropped pick 6. Halftime score should have been more like 28-7.

Hogs defense has no depth. The offensive TD drives don't chew enough clock and the defense is completely spent by the 4th quarter. You will see the Bama offense have their way in the 4th quarter when you watch the game back. Georgia did the same to Ark last week. With depth on defense the Hogs would have beat Georgia by 21 points or more.

Yeofoot...I am still in disbelief that Ark lost. Ark had only 4 offensive possessions in the 4th quarter (FG, Punt, INT, INT)....offense had the ball for a total of 11 minutes in the 2nd half. The defense just had no chance. Ark scores 1 TD on any of their last 3 drives and Hogs win this game....even after leaving all of those points in the first half on the field.

Just so frustrating.

Hogs dropped to 15 in both polls.

The highest ranked team with 1 loss. I think that is about right. At this point in the season, with little, if any chance of the BCS title game, it really does not make much difference.

With Georgia getting pretty much destroyed by Miss St, I think we will have our hands full against Auburn, South Carolina, LSU and possibly Miss St. I think the Hogs will probably wind up 9-3.

I don't know. I believe that after that heartbreaker that the Arkansas pride will kick in and they stand a good chance of running the table... so to speak... I don't give up on them that easily...
Win or Lose - IT'S HOW YOU HYPE THE OUTCOME! BCS logic: When teams in the AQ conferences lose, it shows how tough those conferences are; when teams in non-AQ conferences lose, it is weakness.

I am with you Silverfox. Colin Cowherd said this morning that he felt like Alabama is the only team that he felt could have come away with a win vs Ark on Saturday (he said he doubted Ohio State could have won in that snake pit). He said he felt that Ark passed the eyeball test and will be hard to beat this year. Ark handled the spread offenses last year with running QB's quite well (A&M, Auburn, Florida). I think the Hogs will have some trouble with South Carolina because they will try to pound the ball, lull you to sleep, and then hit you over the top. But I think the Hogs are capable of winning every game left on the schedule. Will they do it...I don't know. I can't wait to see though.
