Is artificial turf safer than grass fields?

I hate even watching a game on blue turf. The red turf is even worse and harder on the eyes. Any color that is very bright is distracting and to me, does not enhance the viewing.

I do think the green was done, to make the artificial turf look as much like grass as possible, but also the green is fairly neutral. Gray or a light brown might work. Black or Gold, Iowas colors would be terrible for watching.

I don't think it matters at all to the players on the field. I do think it does make it harder to watch on TV and really follow what is going on. Other then that, I am just a traditionalist and I prefer all fields be the color of fields. I don't think it gives Boise State or anyone an advantage in a game. I think it was a good marketing ploy for a team trying to rise up and be noticed in the CFB world. It was something to set them apart. At the end of they day, though, the winnning, is what will set them apart.

honestly though, many ankle, leg, groin and back injuries on the field occur when players are not conditioned to varying conditions (like weather) on fields they are not accustomed to playing on. So once again a lot of this has to do with coaching and conditioning.

Does anybody really think the colored turf will stop at EM and BS? I wonder if Vegas is laying odds on who colors next?

I expect somebody will announce they are going to color befoe the season is out. It won't be a team in Blue, Red, or Green...that leaves 3 real colors that are more basic and notable, Yellow, Orange, and Purple. Gray-scale colors should be possible as well.

Orange
Syracuse - since there's is a real orange I could see it being them. And they have the name. And they could use the help.
Clemson - can't see it
Oklahoma St. - Could be
Oregon St. - I could maybe see this.
(Miami has real orange, not enough. Texas and Tennessee off orange of some sort, none of these need the publicity really.)

Yellow
Ga Tech - have the name, but not real yellow.
So. Miss - I could maybe see this.
Idaho - ding, ding, ding...this could be very likely!

Purple
ECU - Yeah, I got a feeling they'd do it.

I'm going to go with Syracuse, ECU, and Idaho...as my favorites for going to colored turf.

Well...some say that Boise's quest for the national title was stillborn, because of that schedule, and that term may be fitting. Interestingly, In the south and SEC country, they still call stillborn infants "blue babies".

Actually a "Blue Baby" is what all babies who are born with a blueish color are called (and the vast majority are living -- not dead). Usually it is an indication of some difficulty with the heart -- or even extended time during labor in the birth canal where the baby has not been oxygenated properly -- quickly to turn pinkish after birth. Stillborns do take on more of a grayish look. A "blue baby" can also be caused by the ingestion of high levels of nitrates contained in some vegetables and in well water (if it contains ligh levels of nitrates). In the South and SEC country if it is indeed true that "blue babies" who are born are assumed stillborn or dead then it is logical to assume that, like Boise's quest, they have not yet been given the chance to take those precious gasps of air to really live.

I did anticipate this objection, but it's not green helmet - green jersey - green pants for any of them as far as I can tell. There is also a factor of comfortability, as every team plays on green fields. I wasn't saying Boise had a definitive advantage, I was just postulating the question.
