Virginia Tech lineman's pinky finger

I heard this story yesterday on ESPN's show called The Experts. A Virg Tech lineman (can't remember his name) came off the field due to his hand bleeding. They took his glve off and he was missing the end of his pinky finger...just the bone exposed. They looked for the end of his pinky and it was still in the glove. He had them put the piece of his pinky on ice and went back into the game. He had it successfully reattached after the game.

He is tougher than I. I would say take me to the hospital and put it back on now....and give me some strong pain meds.

Severed it in second quarter between two helmets. Went to locker room got the pinky put on ice, wrapped it up and went out to play third quarter. Said "I really didn't think much of it. It happens. It's football."

I lost the tip of my finger in a folding chair. I cries like a baby and didn't take it well at all. I was two at the time. Funny thing, though, I remember it vividly and I couldn't tell you any thing else that happened to me at that age or really until I was around five.

Nearly all of the memories I have before the age of 29 involves at least one of four things...naked women, lawyers, guns, and money. (The more vivid include several of these.)

I remember most of the college years. I can't say that I made my parents proud daily.

My grandfather got his pinky stuck in a chicken feeder (medal conveyer belt system that distributes the feed in these large chicken houses). It was not moving, he saw something was blockng it from moving, he thought it was turned off, he removed what was blocking it and grabbed ahold of his pinky and would not let go. Bad thing he was alone. He took out his pocket knife and cut his finger off. He had it put back on but it never worked the same after that.

My dad worked at a casting company for a short time when I was a kid. He and another guy were working on a machine that made somekind of an airplane part. My dad's hand was still in the machine when the other man turned it on. The machine compressed and smashed my dad's index finger on his right hand. You would not believe how big it got. Too many breaks to even count. The finger eventually healed but he could only bend it halfway the rest of his life.

I hope this hand injury thing skips me.

I don't remember much of my time in the Navy...or at least the time in ports on WestPac.

Worst I ever did was slice my left hand thumb down to the bone...kinda weird looking.

Lol, I sliced my right thumb down to the bone when I was a kid and haven't been able to bend it but halfway since. I'm a lefty so no big loss.

a 1/4" kidneys stone. I had one the size of a small grain of sand and it was brutal. I can't imagine one that large.

WOW!, So much for the compound fracture of my arm. To severe your pinky and keep on playing, give that man the "PLATINIUM BALLS" award!
