Boise State vs. San Jose State
I know many of you consider San Jose State University one of the worst of the worst teams in college football.
A bottom feeder from the Wac, none the less.
The halftime score right now is 41-0
Its ok -- some of you will think that is to be expected.
But in a way you have to appreciate SJS. They are like a benchmark right now That Boise State can at least measure its ability compared to some other ranked teams.
Why? Well I am sure the computers already know this and this will give BSU a boost...
SJU has a 1-5 record coming into tonight's game. But look as who they lost to... Several "ranked teams"...
Lost 48-3 to then number #1 but now #8 Alabama
Lost 27-14 to then #11 but now #18 Wisconsin (who is now beating so far #1 Ohio State)
Lost 56-3 to then #13 but now Number #11 Utah
Lost 14-23 to UC Davis
Beat Southern Utah 16-11
Lost 35-13 to #21 Nevada
Records:
Alabama 5-1
Wisconsin 5-1
Utah 6-0
Nevada 6-0
Southern Utah 3-4
UC Davis 3-3
Not including BSU the opponents records are now 28-9
Interesting...

I was thinking the same thing. As bad as San Jose State is right now, it is a comparison-game to the computers. Boise State is just a machine right now.

UC Davis best them...enough said.
"A team with something to play for is dangerous, but a team with someone to play for is unstoppable..." Arkansas OL Brey Cook quote following the death of teammate Garrett Uekman (Nov. 2011).

Virginia Tech at least hung 49 on Wake Forrest by the half, you guys are slacking. Even the towel boy was playing in the third quarter.

Wake Forest's defense is about as bad as San Jose State's. And Michigan's

Speaking of which, I understand you don't want your superstars to get injured, but Boise State needs to go nuclear on these teams. If they really want to impress the pollsters, they should leave in Pettis, Young, Martin, Moore, et al until they are leading by at least 60 points.

I tend to agree with you but coach Petersen was to get some actual game experience for the other players to continue to develop depth and future teams. I don't believe it is so much the possibility of injury but more the desire to develop more potential.

Definitely. I was thinking the same thing; the main reason Boise State's roster has been so deep over the years is how much garbage time their backups get!

LOL Yeah... but you see BSU sent in the entire cheerleading quad with the towel boy and the water boy and SJSU just wants to tackle...lol...

I think it is an important element too. Depth is huge. I know WVU does much better when they have "close" #2's they mix and when they have 3rd and 4th quarter blow outs. They still managed to get a lot of plays this week for 3rd string backs and some D guys. They wouldn't have been in if they didn't get so much time against UNLV. A TO in the game against USF would not be good. Now if they can thump the Cuse and get more time, I'll feel better than I ever have about depth!

Re: Boise State vs. San Jose State
Washington is busy hurting Boise St.'s computer profile right now. But Wake Forest worked real hard to help it!

Did he run into a laundry list of problems??

They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.
The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.
See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

My thinking was, how in the world does San Jose St get Alabama, Wisconsin and Utah on their schedule in the same season?

If this is an indirect criticism of Boise State, the easy answer is that San Jose State is a patsy.
