Early Afternoon Games

Purdue holding their own against Wisconsin heading into the half. Possibly good news for GoBoilers. Possibly better news for Spence.

Something I think is going to happen today: Auburn will get exposed a bit on defense. Not anything serious and I'm not suggesting that UTC will pose a challenge, but I think the Mocs will move the football a bit and score 20 points or so. They have one of the top offenses in the FCS.

Could be. Last week, I said to somebody (WoVeU, I'm thinking) who expected Georgia could threaten Auburn, that if Georgia is competitive with Florida, then I'll be inclined to agree. Well, Georgia was indeed competitive...

The sort of situation that you describe against Chattanooga would provide exactly the sort of game footage that a scrappy team like Georgia could take advantage...

Meanwhile, 'Cuse tied it up. 8)
Great march down the field. Hopefully they're getting in their stride.

I talked to GoBoilers last night as he was the designated driver and they were going out for pizza in W Lafayette.

Must feel good to be relevant again, instead of longing for the bygone days of Paul Pasqualoni. I'm pulling for you buddy.

Good to see you on here, buddy. :D

Yeah, this whole city is watching this, thinking Bowl Game.

I went into this season thinking 6-6... just like good old Paul used to give us. Never dreamed that bowl eligibility (we need 7 because of 2 FCS teams) could happen this year.

One game at a time.

Champs Sports Bowl is in the back of my mind. For now though, I'm mostly just seeing Pinstripes.

Need some help taking down Pitt. Rutgers losing to USF didn't hurt. We're now alone for 2nd with 1 conference loss.

17-14 'Cuse.

If Syracuse wins, I may have to give them the honorary spot of #25 in the new poll

I almost put them in this past week. It was them or NC State though, and I had to be fair...

I thought I saw where one voter put 'Cuse in there. Whether it made it into his team's combined vote, I don't know...

They're almost certainly in my poll this week if they win. 8)

Right now I got Arkansas, C. Florida, San Diego St., and Syracuse right outside the top 25. UCF already won. But with Baylor losing, they may drop out...maybe. We'll see.

Arkansas has a tough one against South Carolina. Have to think that if they win, the numbers would surely give them the nod over 'Cuse.

S.D. St is favored against a weak Colorado St. team...

Guess it will depend on whether Syracuse busts out 2nd half to open up a good margin of victory vs. L'ville.

I just want 'em to win first. Let the rankings come when they come. If they don't make it this week, well then I guess they just have to beat Rutgers.

C. Florida beat Houston who I had ranked 44. C. Florida game score = 37

Arkansas plays #21 S. Carolina...yes, a win and they are certainly in. A loss though...

S.D. St. vs Col St. ranked #98. The Aztecs wont be able to crush the rams enough to matter.

Syracuse vs Louisville ranked #68. Yeah, worry about win now, and M.O.V. later.

Yep. No crap. 21-17 Louisville... Bah... That drive was too steady.

So then heading a little bit down this tangent, briefly...

What does #3 TCU need against #6 Utah to break into the top two. Assume Auburn routinely slaughters Chattanooga. 58-14 or something like that?

How about Boise against #19 Hawaii?

It wont matter much what Auburn does, a game against an FCS opponent this late in the year will just plain hurt period.

Any victory margin by TCU will boost them dramatically. Utah is #6. They just need to win.

Washington is #76. Oregon will have to have a good win especially since they are at home.

Luckily for Boise, except for Utah St. the last game of the season, they are playing the best of the WAC the next four games, 2 ranked, and 2 potential bowl teams in Fresno and Idaho. Against Hawaii, jut the victory will be good. If they blow them out, they will jump.
