TMZ weighs in on the Auburn booster...
http://www.tmz.com/category/tmzsports/?ewrd=1
And, from a Bama insider (TIFWIW):
"Someone forwarded me a story out of Montgomery that, if true, really means Auburn and Newton are dirty. Here it is :
McGregor and 10 others are scheduled for arraignment Friday morning in federal court in Montgomery on charges accusing them of buying and selling votes on pro-gambling legislation.
The bigger picture here is that the Feds have been investigating Milton McGregor (A major Auburn Booster and the owner of VictoryLand, which is located just outside of Montgomery) for quite some time. The Feds are investigating efforts to pass gambling legislation in Alabama and money laundering schemes involving McGregor and other prominent Alabama politicians and Auburn boosters.
The Feds have tape from wire taps made on McGregor and other prominent Auburn boosters from their investigation. The Newton's were just shopping their talent's to the wrong people at the wrong time and thus there is hard evidence available that incriminates everyone involved. It's only a matter of time that all of this information becomes public.
FBI found out about Cam before the NCAA did while wiretapping Milton McGregor and others related to the casino/bingo indictments. They uncovered conversations with McGregor, Auburn and Cam's uncle in Michigan. McGregor paid $250K to the uncle through a PAC and other hidden entities and the uncle funneled the money to Cecil.
The FBI gave this information to the NCAA sometime after the indictments were handed down. They had to sit on the information for 6 months until the grand jury indicted the men and women in the gambling deal. All of the wiretap information was sealed and that is why the delay in investigating. The NCAA had to go to Miss St to see if Cecil had solicited money from them as well. That is why Miss St is involved. They are basically connecting all of the dots. Miss St may be cleared because they told Cecil no. He then went to Auburn. The offer was on the table from McGregor but Cam wanted to play at Miss St and not Auburn. When Miss St declined to pay him, he went to where the money was... hence the comment, "The money was too much." The FBI met with the Miss St coaches, John Bond and Bill Bell today to get their official statements."

CIA Gets Involved in Cam Newton Case In Hopes of Getting Auburn Tickets
by DJ Gallo / November 17, 2010
A week after the FBI got involved in a probe of Cam Newton’s recruitment, the CIA has reportedly also taken an active role in the case and is hoping to speak with Newton soon and attend his upcoming games.
“We don’t know yet how far his recruitment extends,” said CIA Director Leon Panetta. “Maybe foreign governments were involved. Who knows? But I know one way I can look into it would be getting 50-yard-line tickets for the Alabama game this Saturday, as well as next week’s game against South Carolina.”
Panetta said the CIA would then present the findings of its investigation the following Saturday in a luxury box at the SEC Championship Game. But he scoffed at implications the CIA taking an interest in the case was to get tickets.
“This is not about tickets. This is about American interests,” he said. “Also, I am a memorabilia guy, so I would want to meet a few times with Cam and would require that he speak openly and honestly, turn over several of his game-used uniforms, and bring along a few Sharpies. And the ones with the thinner tips. The regular ones are too big for autographs.”
Newton’s father has been accused of demanding money from schools and the case will only become more intense in the lead up to the Auburn-Alabama rivalry game. In fact, top officials in all five branches of the military have personally offered to provide security detail at the game.
Vice President Biden has also asked to coach Auburn and hang out with the cheerleaders, but that request has been denied.

Re: sCam Newton
The rumors now are that Auburn could lose their accreditation if board of trustees members were involved. Of course just rumor....but this does go deeper then Cam Newton. The SEC league offices are in Alabama....commissioner Slive is a former official. There is also talk that he was involved in all of this. I think my accusation last week that SEC officials could be getting money under the table to make certain calls is not so far fetched. This looks like it is going to real messy with the FBI is finished with their investigation.
Also, the main Arkansas message board is just going crazy over this story. The Cam Newton thread has over 100 pages, over 100,000 views, and around 5,000 posts. They all are pulling for Auburn to beat Bama, and Ark to win out....then for the NCAA to rule that Cam was ineligible to play all season...with Auburn out of the picture LSU and Ark tie for the SEC west. However, Ark would hold the tie breaker over LSU. So, in this scenario Ark would win the SEC West and face South Carolina for a berth into the Sugar Bowl. Auburn my very well beat Bama and Ark may win out but I don't think any of this will be settled in the next 2 weeks for this to happen.

Read this. Several Ark kids have done similar things. Switching from Ark to Auburn. That's going to happen but the number in which it is happening is alarming. The Auburn coaches can not be that good. Someone is paying these kids.

Has anyone ever heard the clip of what I believe is a drunk Joe Biden trying to sing the song "The Villages", that they use to advertise that retirement community in Florida??
Hi-Larry-Us!!!

They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.
The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.
See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

As far as accredidation goes. This falls under 2 entities in this country. Aubrun should be under the SACS, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. It would have to find that the Faculty was involved and grades or curriculum were being bent...thus falling out of the accreditation guidelines. And a University doesn't lose accreditation the colleges under the University are the level accreditation is applied. I guess every College (Business, Science, Engineering, Art, etc.) could all be found at fault and could effectively lose it for the entire University.
I attended UTSA while it was under Accreditation Review. It was a pain, I had to turn in my notes and everything. And didn't get some back until weeks intoi the next semester. So it wouldn't take a whole lto to break their guidelines and requirements. Anything that would (by administration)allow a student to get through a degree plan yet not have sufficient knowledge of the discipline as set forth by their curriculum requirements. Giving easy tests, skipping material, lecture scope and depth, giving grades (certainly). But if the typical college cheating was going on but in lower volumes nothing would be done if no faculty member was involved. Higher levels could get a college on accreditation probabation (this is much more common) and the college doesn't lose accreditation they come back the next year and even the following to review again. And if you are still jacked up, then you lose accreditation. Then any people graduating with no accreditation (you still graduate and earn credits throught the school) would have a degree worth about 1/3 of what you thought it was going in.

Re: sCam Newton
I don't see it going so far as that. I find it hard to believe that the cheating is that entrenched. I don't doubt there is some cheating going on - not just Auburn- everywhere. IMO I don't see where winning is fun if you know you cheated. I could change my picks every week if I wanted and so could Eric and Doss, but what would be the point in the end? I like to wIn, probably more than most, but I really want to have won.

Re: sCam Newton
Cheating has been historically endemic in the SEC. Part of the "if you ain't cheatin', you ain't tryin'" subculture.
Auburn got caught paying players to play back in the 90's. A Bama booster paid for Albert Means in the 2000's..Tank Black (agent) got caught paying players at Florida..etc.
Football is so important and with big boosters and agents so involved, it becomes difficult for schools to control. What I find different about the Auburn situation is, that by some accounts, cheating has been institutionalized.
Even now, the Lowder controlled Board can overrule the school's president. Beating Bama and winning on the field right now are more important than future implications of playing Newton.

Ya know...
Auburn was undefeated and was on probation for paying players when it beat FSU in 1957 to win a national championship (#1 AP). They could not go to a bowl game but claimed the AP NC. And the Tigers were on probation when they went undefeated in 1993. Terry Bowden stated that there was a pay for play scheme going when he got there.
If Auburn is winning, they're cheating.

Dyer and his buddy Mosley. Have you seen the pics of Mosley with all the cash. This was taken not long after Mosley and Dyer signed with Auburn (I believe it was first posted on Mosley's facebook page). I'm not saying all the kids from Ark that go somewhere else are getting paid...even the ones going to Auburn. Malzahn has strong Ark ties and is hard not to like when you meet him.
