Boise - Nevada
Are you kidding me? Due to Tryptophan napping I woke early in the third quarter in time to watch Nevada start staging the impossible. Tied up with seconds to go, Moore makes an unbelievable pass to get them in chip shot range and with time running out the kicker misses it!!!! Overtime, what a game and what a day of games.
Re: Boise - Nevada
Oh Crap the kicker missed another.

Just wow! I could not believe the first miss...has the Boise kicker ever had to kck in a pressure situation before? That first was a give me field goal. And then to miss the second one...I feel bad for the guy.

Re: Boise - Nevada
That was a fun game to watch , wasn't it ...
The Bronco's Defense looked exhausted. Hadn't seen `em that tired since the Virginia Tech game.
Guess that's why you schedule more than one honestly tough team during the regular season. So fatigue factors become less likely down the stretch.
Boise just lulled themselves with next to no effort in most of their games. But Nevada wasn't going to quit.
I give Boise a lot of credit for not choking and playing recklessly on that last drive ... but now they know how fsu felt . ( all of those missed fieldgoal keeping them outta the big game )
BillyBud can sleep a little easier now, because he doesn't have to defend his opinion quite so intensely.
That is, until all of the TCU chatter picks up ... though, TCU played Tennessee Tech; so in my opinion, they eliminated themselves when they scheduled that game.

Nevada played until the end. They did well. They are a good ball club and their quarterback is as good as any out there. Congratulations to Nevada.

For what it's worth, which is absolutely nothing, WVU and I both picked Nevada to beat Boise in the non official Friday pick thread that Eric posted.

It was an entertaining game to watch. I do feel bad for the Boise kicker though.

Re: Boise - Nevada
Yea; well, one has to wonder :
When Boise lined up for that field goal with only 1 tick left on the clock, was the kicker geared up for it, until the Refs stopped the game for the booth review that put 2 seconds on the clock?
And why stop things with only 2 seconds? once the ball is snapped, there simply wouldn't be any time left after the kick.
Even had the ball been snapped poorly; the holder couldn't recover it in time to do anything. The time would have expired.
So, in this for instance, the only thing stopping the field did, was potential ice the kicker. Because, with Nevada not having any time outs left; nor did Boise St have any time outs left ... the kicker had no reason to assume the whistle would prevent him from booting it. It may have thrown him off.
Couldn't it

It was a good game.
Donovan, love the avatar.

They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.
The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.
See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

Re: Boise - Nevada
Today the better team won. It was inevitable that it would happen... the winning streak was too long and Nevada was a top notch team and pumped for the game. TCU relishes this one, I'm sure. Kellen Moore will be back next year. Congrats to Nevada. I really had thought Hawaii or Fresno were going to be the ones to pull it off but Nevada hung in there and never gave up. Late season loses are always the craps -- no matter what team it is it screws things up a bit. I felt equally sorry for Bama cuz I thought they were going to pull it off as well...

Like I have been saying, you play decent teams and the odds go up that you will get beat....that's why I give props to those teams that play a handful of good teams.
When the Vegas odds between two teams are within 7 or so, the odds of getting beaten go up greatly.
Boise got by VT, didn't get by Nevada....I
I was mildly surprised because of Nevada's close score with Fresno State and their getting beat by Hawaii.
