Armchairqb....

In my humble opinion, you might not see a VT vs UConn...

The Orange Bowl has the picking right this year before the Fiesta Bowl and could pick an at large team...picking a Ohio State/Michigan State might make more sense for the local merchants who want heads in the beds.

I do not know how well the UConn fans travel but they might travel for their first BCS bowl. A VT/WVU match would be money in the bank...national interest, heads on beds, etc.

Razor, what site did you get this from?
They’re either going to run the ball here or their going to pass it.

The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break.

See, well ya see, the thing is, he should have caught that ball. But the ball is bigger than his hands.

Orange Bowl will not get a Big 10 team. Rose gets the Big 10 champ (Wisconsin) and the Sugar Bowl gets first picks this year (and they will take Ohio State). So, I guess the only hope for the Orange is for the Sugar to pass on both Ohio State/Michigan State...I don't see that happening.

What happens if S. Carolina beats Auburn?

South Carolina goes to the Sugar as SEC Champ...if Auburn does not drop below #4 in BCS...they go to a BCS bowl (Orange?)

That's what I have seen in the predictions if South Car beats Auburn. So the Sugar would be South Car vs Ohio State and Orange would be Auburn vs Big East Champ. That's what the ESPN BCS Countdown Show said yesterday.

However, I have seen no scenarios that have a Big 10 school in the Orange. The only way that is even possible is for the Sugar Bowl to not take Ohio State or Michigan St...and the Sugar has all but said they are selecting Ohio State.

Doss...the ACC has a contract with Orange..it is the host bowl for the ACC. No chance of having Auburn play the BE Champ in the Orange.

If WVU beats UConn...WVU will play the ACC champ in Miami.

My guess is that if UConn wins and Auburn loses, Auburn will go to the Orange and UConn to the Fiesta. If West Virginia wins, I think they may send the Mountaineers to the Orange and Auburn to the Fiesta to play Oklahoma/Nebraska.

If Auburn loses and Oregon wins...you may well see a Oregon Stanford rematch....TCU will not go no matter what....part of the "Sisters" group. And I would pick Auburn. Andrew Luck is the best QB in the country, imo.

I meant to type ACC champ not Big East. My point was there is no way a Big 10 team would play n the Orange bowl like a couple of people were suggesting. The Rose gets Wisconsin and the Sugsr will take Ohio State.

Neither QB is as good as Mallett (Luck is close and Newton is a very good running back that throws the ball ok). You wait and see...after the NFL combine Mallett will be the first QB taken in the NFL draft...not Luck.

Luck has three 300 yard games this season.
Mallett has nine 300 yard games this year (and would more than likely have more if not for only playing 1 quarter at Auburn and only 2 quarters vs Ole Miss).

Donavon...

Mallett has a higher QB rating, more passing yards (by quite a bit..even missing time for injury), he has more passing TD's, he has more rushing TD's, and comp percentage is in the same ball park (66 to lucks 70). Luck has 4 fewer Int's. Mallett also has the strongest arm in college football. I would Aldo argue that Mallett put up these numbers against higher ranked defenses. For example this past week...LSU was giving up 17 points a game and ranked in top 5 nationally in defense (Mallett scorched them with over 300 yards and 3 TD's). Not really that close if you ask me.

It's a complete joke that Mallett is not a finalist for the Maxwell, Davey Obrian, or the Heisman.

Mallett plays in a system that relies heavily on the run, that is an advantage on three hundred yard games.

Mallet is a prototypical NFL QB. That is why Michigan recruited him out of high school. The only think I know about him was as a freshman and then he didn't make the best decisions in the heat of battle. He was just a freshman, though. I have never seen Luck except on TV. It is hard to evaluate, but a QB who does well in the PAC-10 is typically a kid to look at. Most PAC-10 offenses are set up to run a pro style attack. Luck has a coach who knows how to build and NFL QB. Both these kids are basically products of the same system when you get right down to it. The difference is likely going to be between the ears.
